The City Of Vexil.
"Did you want to go and see your mother?" asks Helbe the elven thief as they head back through the Reinholt family estate.
"No" replies Mira Reinholt the mage who looks back at the main house, where they've just had a meeting with his uncle, the head of the family, and the trading company they own.
The once powerful mage looks towards the cottage to the side of the main house, there his mother lives. "No" quietly repeats the spellcaster who also happens to be a highly skilled swordmaster.
The young elven noble from the island principality of Laerel is about to say something else concerning that. But he falls silent when Lord Farque glances sideways and down at him.
Instead it's the undead warlord who changes the subject "At least your uncle had some useful information" says Lord Farque.
Both practitioners of magic nod in agreement with that, and do so again, when the lord and ruler of the Lands Farque says in a slightly dry tone of voice "He doesn't like the Geist family that's for sure".
"They've always been one of our major competitors" says the mage Reinholt, who follows that with "For nearly a couple of centuries I'd say".
Mira Reinholt, who like his fellow spellcaster, Helbe the elven thief, is a member of Lord Farque's personal council, then says "Definitely more so over the last fifty years, from before I was born".
He briefly pauses before continuing with "I remember as a child and I heard both my father and uncle complaining about them".
The Vexilian mage in exile, glances at his fellow practitioner of magic, and asks him "You ever steal from them?".
"Probably" replies the highly talented elven magic user, who follows that with "Probably stole from your family's company too".
The grandson of the ruling prince of Laerel, shrugs his shoulders before he continues with "Kind of lose track of those who I've stolen from".
"That doesn't surprise me" dryly says Lord Farque, who pauses for a moment, before he adds in the ork language "Not that way cunt".
As behind them, Dorc da Orc was just about to wander off the white pebble path they're on, and head across the park like estate.
The large ork warleader grunts, and continues to follow the three in front, as the lord of the death realm dryly says in the elven language to the two spellcasters "Dwarves on the street that way" as he gestures in the direction the ork weaponsmith was going to head off to.
Both Mira Reinholt and Helbe the elven thief glance back at the big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world, then the elven masterthief dryly says "I guess we're not going right when we leave the estate grounds".
The large, heavily armoured deathlord of Farque grunts at that, then he points ahead to the rise they appeared on earlier when they got to the Reinholt family estate, and he says to the mage Reinholt "Teleport us once we top that rise".
"Will do" replies the spellcaster who was once the most powerful mage of his generation to be found anywhere in the Southlands.
Once they're on top of the rise, Mira Reinholt glances back at the family estate, looking at the homes for a moment or two, before he tells the others to stand close. When they do, he looks in the direction they came from, and they disappears after he drains a spell gem, and teleports the four of them.
A little while later, as they head back to the inn they and the rest of the group have been staying at while in the city of Vexil.
Lord Farque looks around, then after a glance back at Dorc da Orc, he tells the two spellcasters "Left here".
After they go around the corner, the undead warlord says in the elven language "Mira take Dorc in there" he follows that in a dry tone with "Make sure he buys plenty, need the fat fucker distracted from everything else he finds tempting in the city".
Seeing where they've stopped near, Dorc da Orc stares for a moment then he says in a tone of delight "Ooohhhh cakes".
The weaponsmith from the wolf tribe of orks looks expectantly at Lord Farque, who nods his full helmed head in reply.
The large ork who is a general in the Armies of Farque, hurries to the bakery that specializes in cakes.
Before he enters, he points down the street and bursts out laughing and says "Hobbitches" when he spots a couple of halflings.
Dorc da Orc or Dorkindle which is his given name, then enters the cake shop, followed by Mira Reinholt the mage.
As they wait outside, the undead being who has the name of Draugodrottin that the people of his lands know him by.
Quietly says in the royal elven language to the elven princeling standing beside him "The main problem of bringing that fat fucking psycho into a city like this, is keeping him occupied so he doesn't go off and a cause a commotion".
"Commotion as in murdering innocent people?" says prince Helbenthril Raendril in the same language, who follows that with "Like trolls, and in particularly dwarves?".
The large, heavily armoured deathlord who has the elven name of Des'tier, which means The Destroyer, just grunts in reply to that.
Then as they continue to wait for Dorc da Orc and Mira Reinholt the mage, the elven master assassin quietly asks the undead warlord "What do you think they're up to?".
The lord of the death realm who knows exactly what, or to be precise, who the elven magic user is referring to, quietly says to him "They're definitely stirring up something".
Draugodrottin continues with "After their failure to influence the war between Tuledare and Phamal, they've got something else on the go".
The lord and ruler of the Lands Farque then looks down at the elven master archer standing beside him, and tells him "I want you to find out all that you can".
The large heavily armoured deathlord, then quietly follows that with "Hopefully Dalin and Lis found out something this morning" he then adds "That lead to one of their hidden warehouses should bring up something".
"At the least it should confirm they're shipping weapons and armour in a clandestine manner" says the son of the heir to the principality of Laerel.
Lord Farque nods his full helmed head in agreement to that, then he and the elven masterthief who is his envoy, fall silent as Mira Reinholt the mage makes his way out of the cake shop, shortly followed by a grinning Dorc da Orc, who is holding two large wooden boxes, presumably stuffed with cakes and other baked goods. They are.
"Not here" says the deathlord of Farque to the ork warleader who is a general in his armies, as the large ork was just about to sit down in front of the cake shop and start stuffing his face.
"Carry it back to the inn" continues the lord of the death realm who then adds in the ork language "Don't want you dropping any of that fucking shit, you'll crack a fucking tanty if you do".
The ork weaponsmith, who is the son of the former matriarch of the wolf tribe. Who he killed, which was only fair, as she was trying her best to kill him at the time.
Grunts at hearing that from the large, heavily armoured deathlord who nods for Dorkindle to follow him and the two spellcasters.
They set off again, with Dorc da Orc keeping a careful eye on the two large boxes he's carrying, that contain cakes and other various pastries.
As they walk, Mira Reinholt the mage says in elvish in a dry tone of voice "For someone who supposedly hates fruit, Dorc sure got plenty of cakes and pastries containing fruit".
"It doesn't count when it's something sweet, or if it's booze" dryly says Lord Farque in the same language, he continues with "Orks might detest fruit and vegetables, but if it comes in the form of cakes or alcohol, those greedy fuckers will definitely eat it".
Both practitioners of magic nod their hooded heads, as the four of them round a corner onto another street.
And as usual whenever they walk through a town or city, they. In particular Lord Farque, and definitely Dorc da Orc, attract stares.
And on this street it's no different. Even from some wagon drivers, as a trio of wagons in a row, come up the street.
As they do, Draugodrottin notices something, and he quietly says in the royal elven language to prince Helbenthril Raendril "You see that?".
"I do" replies the elven masterthief in the same language, who then nods when the lord and ruler of the Lands Farque quietly tells them "Check them".
The highly talented elven magic user casts a spell that not even the mage Reinholt, who is walking right beside him, can sense.
Only Lord Farque, and Narladene the ground pixie who is on the right shoulder of the young elven noble, and is only visible to him and Des'tier. Can sense the elven practitioner of magic casting.
Once the wagons have gone by, Helbe the elven thief is silent for a few moments, then in the elven language he says to Lord Farque and Mira Reinholt "Geist".
The deathlord of Farque who spotted the wooden boxes in the back of the wagons, then quietly asks "What else?".
"They know they're carrying weapons and armour" says the young elven noble from the island principality of Laerel.
"But only the lead driver knows where they're going" continues the elven master archer, who follows that with "And that's to the city's main airdocks".
Des'tier, The Destroyer nods his full helmed head, then he quietly says in the common language for the benefit of the following ork warleader "Change of plans".
The large undead warlord in the dark blue and black full suit of plate armour adds "We're not going back to the inn now".
"To the main airdocks?" asks Mira Reinholt the mage, and Lord Farque nods and says "Yes the main airdocks".
He looks around, and spots a nearby building, at four storey's tall, stands taller than any other building in this neighbourhood in the city of Vexil.
"That one" says the lord and ruler of the Lands Farque as he points to that particular building, which they start making their way to.
And once there, and get up onto the rooftop, the mage Reinholt will teleport them towards the main airdocks of the city. On what's a cold autumn, almost winter day here in the capital of the city-state of Vexil . . . . . .
