To War 89.

Summer. In The Northeast Of The Province Of Corlinda.

Teabagger the Goblin Cunt looks down at the moat along the west wall of castle Measum.
And he spots one of the enemy struggling through the water, trying to get back to the otherside.
Smoke briefly drifts by from a burning raft from further down the moat on this side of the large castle.
Then the small bright green goblin, who is the commander of a battalion of goblins in the first army of Farque, looks to his right.
"Boss, er general" says Teabagger the Goblin Cunt, who then adds "One of them is still alive trying to get back across to the otherside".
The goblin commander sourly smiles as his general is standing there scratching his ass whilst looking off into the distance to the west.
"Huh?" grunts Dorc da Orc as he looks down at Teabagger who is standing beside him on the parapet of the west wall of castle Measum.
As one of the trebuchets sends off a load of rocks and broken masonry at the retreating enemy. The large ork looks to where the goblin commander points.
The ork warleader who is a general in the armies of Farque grunts as he sees the enemy soldier down in the moat.
Struggling through the water, pushing away any of the dead bodies that gets in his way.
The ork weaponsmith then looks around for something to throw, as he doesn't want to throw one of his own weapons.
The big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world, briefly contemplates picking up Teabagger, and throwing him. But instead he says "Cunt get me that".
The small, bright lurid green goblin who is originally from the province of Sorros in northern Melaurn.
Makes his way to the next merlon along, and takes the spear leaning up against it.
The goblin commander walks back and hands it to his general, who grunts as he takes it off him.
Dorc da Orc or Dorkindle which is his given name, starts to grin as he watches the enemy soldier making his way to the otherside of the moat.
The large ork who is a member of the wolf tribe of orks, waits before he throws the spear.
The big, burly ork form the frozen bottom of the world doesn't throw the spear until the enemy soldier gets to the otherside of the moat. Haul himself out of the water, and start limping away, heading back to his army that's in retreat from this side of castle Measum.
Surprisingly for the usually violent warleader of the ork race, he doesn't throw the spear particularly forcefully.
Infact he throws it with a light touch, something of a rarity for the weaponsmith from the wolf tribe of orks.
For a moment it doesn't even look like the spear will make it across the moat from the top of the twenty five foot tall west wall of the large castle.
But it does, and it does hit the enemy soldier, who is limping away after his retreating army.
It doesn't hit him hard, but it hits him hard enough in the back to knock him down to the ground, face first.
Where he lies, howling and screaming in pain with the spear sticking out of his back.
Teabagger the Goblin Cunt who has seen his general throw a spear ten times further, with so much force it cuts a person in half.
Sourly smiles and glances sideways at the large ork, who bursts out laughing.
So much so that he doubles over, slaps his thighs as he starts crying from the laughter.
"What's that foul beast hollering about?" asks sir Percavelle Lé Dic from further along the parapet of the west wall of castle Measum.
The large, heavily, armoured nobleborn knight who hails from the kingdom of Druvic, looks along the wall to where the large ork is with some of the goblin battalion.
"Stupid beast" loudly mutters sir Percavelle Lé Dic as he watches his bitter rival laughing uncontrollably about fifty feet to the right along the top of the longest wall of the large castle, that's the ancestral home of the local nobleman, lord Measum.
"I think friend Dorc just did that" says Shur Kee the monk who is beside the former paladin, who is a member of the order of The Knights of Saint Mar-che.
The former earl of Lé Dic, which is his family's fief in the east of the kingdom of Druvic.
Looks to where the short, statured monk standing beside him points.
"How drool, wot" dryly says sir Percavelle Lé Dic, or Percy as he's more commonly called by those who know him well.
The nobleborn knight just shakes his head as he looks at the enemy soldier on the otherside of the moat.
Lying there, screaming in pain, while trying to crawl away, but is unable to thanks to the spear in his back thrown by the ork general.
The nobleborn knight turns as does Shur Kee, and they see Tovis the war engineer making his way along the parapet, heading in this direction.
With the young engineer, who like Percy, is from the kingdom of Druvic. Is his adjunct, along with the sorceress Heinë.
The captain in the engineering corp of the first army of Farque stops next to the former paladin and the physical adept.
"I say young Tovis, will we be giving chase to this rabble now that they're on the run?" asks the large, heavily armoured knight, who then adds "Wot".
"Er no" says Tovis the war engineer, who continues on with "Remember we want to keep them occupied, so they don't head further south into Corlinda, or over into Karricaw".
"Right" says the Druvician nobleman, who then loudly mutters "Always forget that bit".
Then the member of the order of the Knights of Saint Mar-che scowls as his bitter rival, Dorc da Orc. Can still be heard laughing from further along the top of the wall.
With a frown upon his face, the war engineer asks "What's got Dorc so amused?".
Sir Percavelle doesn't respond, he continues to scowl. So it's Shur Kee the monk who answers the young engineer, who is a captain in the armies of Farque.
"That, there" says the acolyte in the philosophical order of Bru Li.
The young engineer, who previously served in the army of a baron Harkonin in the east of his homeland, the kingdom of Druvic.
Looks to where Shur Kee has nodded, and he sees the enemy soldier across the moat, trying to crawl away with a spear in his back.
"I see" dryly says the commander of the engineering corp in the first army of Farque.
Who is in charge of the defence of the large castle, that's the ancestral home of the lord Measum.
Here in the northeast of the province of Corlinda. In what's referred to as the The Corner.
Where the provinces of Mofosild, Moleau and Corlinda all meet, with the border of the province of Karricaw not far from where those three provinces meet.
Tovis calls out "Clear away the dead, and get our wounded seen to!".
The young Druvician engineer, looks down at the moat, at the bodies in the water, and hopes disease doesn't spread through the castle in this summer heat.
He's just glad the water supply here in castle Measum doesn't come from the moat.
Or to be exact, the river that's been diverted to go into the moat that's on the western and southern side of the large castle that's been the ancestral home of lord Measum's family for centuries.
"Subaltern can you clear some of that up?" asks Tovis, as he looks down at the bodies floating in the moat along this side of the large castle.
"Yes captain" says the sorceress Heinë, who is one of the more temperamental spellcasters in the first army of Farque.
And she's definitely the most temperamental person that the war engineer has under his command.
With the exception of the bitter rivals, Dorc da Orc and sir Percavelle Lé Dic.
"You get started on that" says the captain in the armies of Farque, who follows that with "I need to speak with the warleader".
The attractive looking sorceress with the black hair nods. And the war engineer, along with his adjunct head along the parapet.
They're followed by both Shur Kee the monk, and sir Percavelle Lé Dic.
When Tovis gets to where the ork general and the goblin commander are on top of the west wall of castle Measum.
Flames erupt along the surface of the moat for a distance of nearly a hundred feet.
The black, greasy smoke of burning bodies starts to rise up into the air with the flames too.
Dorc da Orc who stops laughing, and starts vigorously sniffing as bodies start burning down on the moat by a spell cast by Heinë the sorceress.
Grunts as Tovis the war engineer asks him "Think they'll attack again today Dorc?".
The large ork, who is starting to salivate at the smell of the burning bodies. Looks away to the west, and watches the retreating enemy.
And though some of them are around to the south of castle Measum.
The bulk of their army made up predominantly of allies to the crown. From predominantly up in the provinces of Olind and Calinar, and some from Sorros.
Once again attacked the west side of the large castle that's the ancestral home of the Measum family.
Due to it being the shortest of the walls, and the longest by far. Not to mention the ground to the west of the large castle is more gentle and easy going than on the three other sides of it.
"Who the fuck knows" says the big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world.
Who hopes the sorceress Heinë who is burning the dead bodies down in the moat with magical fire.
Doesn't set the injured enemy soldier with the spear in his back, just on the otherside of the moat, on fire as well.
The ork warleader, who as a general in the armies of Farque. Far out ranks Tovis.
Just that no one bothers to inform the large ork about that. As they don't want him making any decisions when it comes to what they're doing.
The young engineer, who is a captain in the armies of Farque. Uses the information that Dorkindle gives him. And makes decisions from that, and from other sources. When he decides how to defend castle Measum.
Nods his head, as the ork weaponsmith tells him "They fucken might attack at night next".
The son of the previous matriarch of the wolf tribe of orks, then mutters "Fucken me would".
As the large ork finds the afternoon sun and heat too much for him. And he needs to get into some shade so he can cool off.
Especially with the flames coming off the water in the moat, rising up and increasing the heat along the west wall of castle Measum.
"Just as long as we can still keep them busy" quietly says the young engineer who hails from the kingdom of Druvic.
The commander of the engineering corp in the first army of Farque then says to his adjunct "Have a messenger go over to the east wall".
The war engineer continues with "They might try coming up the trail there again".
As the adjunct calls for a runner, and Dorc da Orc who is sweating profusely in the heat of the afternoon. Continues to salivate at the smell of the burning bodies down in the moat.
Tovis along with Shur Kee the monk, and sir Percavelle Lé Dic move a bit further along the wall. Beyond the flames rising up from the surface of the moat.
They're followed by Teabagger the Goblin Cunt, who leaves his general standing there drooling.
"Looks like some of them are regrouping" quietly says the war engineer who is in charge of the defence of castle Measum.
The enemy, who have learnt their lesson. And now have their camp well beyond the range of the two trebuchets that Tovis has at his disposal.
Predominantly on the south side of the road that's to the west of the large castle.
Are forming up some of their ranks who have retreated after another failed attack upon the west wall of castle Measum.
"I hope they're thinking about attacking one of the other sides of the castle, and not thinking about taking off" says the young engineer who is originally from the kingdom of Druvic.
Shur Kee the monk and Teabagger the Goblin Cunt, nod in agreement with the captain in the armies of Farque.
While sir Percavelle Lé Dic grunts in agreement with his fellow countryman.
The four of them along with the war engineer's adjunct, who has joined them again.
Are silent for a little while as they watch what the enemy are up to.
Tovis who for a few moments, thinks the king's allies are going to move off and head west.
Nods his head as he sees about a quarter of them start heading back this way.
And before they get in range of the pair of trebuchets that the engineering corp of the first army of Farque brought with them. They turn off the road, and head south.
"Hmmm me thinks these villains are going to attack the south side of the castle, wot" says sir Percavelle Lé Dic. "Maybe" says Tovis the war engineer, who after a brief pause adds "Or they'll circle around to the east side".
Which the young engineer suspects is exactly what they'll do.
For though there's a winding road, a trail really. That comes up the rocky ground to the east.
There's no moat on the east side of castle Measum. And the gate on that side of the large castle isn't as well made, or fortified like the gates on this side of castle Measum.
Tovis who figures the enemy force who will go around to the east side of the castle, will get there at twilight.
Nods his head, then says "I think Dorc is right". Sir Percavelle Lé Dic scowl when he hears that.
"They'll attack at night" continues the captain in the armies of Farque, who briefly pauses before he adds "On this side of the castle, and around on the east side".
Tovis is silent for a few moments, then he says "This should make for an interesting night" . . . . . .
