To War 93.

Summer. The Province Of Corlinda.

In the early dawn light, Tovis the war engineer watches as the east gates of castle Measum are opened.
As they're swung open, he looks around and spots Dorc da Orc standing nearby in the shade of the east wall, chewing on something.
Hoping it's not a body part, Tovis the war engineer says to the large ork "Dorc, you go and bring it in".
The ork warleader looks at the young enginee thinks about for a moment, then grunts.
The large ork biffs away whatever it is he's been chewing on, and heads for the gates that are opening.
The big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world is followed by Teabagger the Goblin Cunt.
The commander of the goblin battalion hurries to keep pace with his general.
Who follows some of the local soldiers from here in the garrison of Measum castle out through the gates as the sun continues to come up over the horizon in the east.
Those defending the east wall of the large castle during the night. Were eventually successfully in pushing the enemy forces back.
The enemy, allies to the king and crown, mainly from the provinces of Mofosild, Olind and Moleau.
Finally retreated back down the hillside road to the east of the large castle that's the ancestral home of the local nobleman, lord Measum.
Those of the enemy that survived the nighttime battle along the east wall of castle Measum.
Have now made their way back around to the west side of the large castle, where the bulk of their army is located.
As for those who defended the east side of castle Measum during the night.
More than half of the seventy or so of them who were up on the east wall parapet last night, are dead or injured.
Including half of the goblins who were fighting during the night along this side of the largest castle in all of southern Melaurn.
But the majority of the fatalities and injuries of the defenders, were the local soldiers from here in the castle garrison.
As the sound of retching, and vomiting can be heard when some of the local soldiers get to the enemy's battering ram.
Not to mention the growling and cackling laughter from Dorc da Orc who then yells at them to get out of the way.
Tovis the war engineer quietly says "Think they'll try this again?" followed by "Over here, on this side of the castle?".
Looking at those with him, the young engineer from the kingdom of Druvic nods his head, when Heinë the sorceress tells him "Probably" followed by "Even though they lost quite a few over here during the night".
"I concur with this witchy woman, wot" says sir Percavelle Lé Dic in his overly loud, and boisterous voice.
The attractive looking spellcaster in the first army of Farque sourly smiles at that description of her from the former paladin.
And though the Farqian sorceress can be highly temperamental at times. She keeps her mouth shut and doesn't say anything in response to the large, heavily armoured knight.
"These foul villains are bound to try again" adds the nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic, who follows that with a "Wot".
"I agree with friend Percy and the sorceress Heinë" says Shur Kee the monk who is standing beside the nobleborn knight, who is now scowling as he looks out the open gates, and sees what his bitter rival, Dorc da Orc is doing.
The war engineer, who is a captain in the armies of Farque, and the commander of the engineering corp in the first army of Farque.
Nods in agreement with the short, statured monk, then he slightly grimaces as he watches what's happening outside the east gates of castle Measum.
As some of the local soldiers from the castle garrison move off to kill any of the enemy who are wounded or injured, who are still out infront of the east wall of the large castle.
Dorc da Orc with a bit of grunting, and a lot of swearing, picks up the battering ram the enemy used during the night.
The heavy wooden log, that's sharpened to a point, and fire hardened at one end.
And takes at least a dozen soldiers to pick up, more to wield with any sort of accuracy.
The big, burly ork from the frozen bottom of the world carries the battering ram in through the gates, and into the castle.
A battering ram he took a shit on twice last night, and pissed on at least half a dozen times from the top of the wall during the nighttime battle.
A battering ram that's absolutely filthy with his faeces, and urine. And stinks beyond belief.
Though which the enemy tried to use numerous times throughout the battle during the night.
"Not here Dorc!" shouts Tovis the war engineer as the ork weaponsmith heads this way with the battering ram, which reeks worse than the ork warleader himself.
"Over there" adds the captain in the armies of Farque who nods away to the side, then continues with "Where those locals are".
A group of castle folk are waiting off to one side, where they'll set the enemy battering ram on fire.
The first thought to do with it once it was retrieved, was to chop the log up, and use it for firewood.
Now it's best to just burn it, as it's far to filthy to use as firewood thanks to the large ork shitting and pissing on it during the night.
The warleader of the ork race grunts, then he heads off to the open ground behind the keep where some of the locals are waiting.
"I say, Tovis old chap" says sir Percavelle Lé Dic after shaking his head as he watches his bitter rival, the weaponsmith from the wolf tribe of orks.
"What shall we do now?" adds the former paladin who follows that with "Mount an attack upon their army?" he briefly pauses before adding "Wot".
"Nope" is the reply of the young engineer, who like the nobleborn knight, hails from the kingdom of Druvic.
"Remember we're to keep them occupied here" continues the war engineer, who previously served in the army of a baron Harkonin, in the east of his homeland, Druvic.
"So they don't go further south into the province, or over into Karricaw" adds Tovis, as the first army of Farque has been hired by the Karricawian nobleman, lord Gormica.
Who finds himself at war against the crown and king of Melaurn.
The former earl of Lé Dic, which is his family's fief in the east of the kingdom of Druvic, grunts when he hears that.
Then he, Tovis, Shur Kee and Heinë, all turn and look to the west, as in the distance across the large castle, they hear the trebuchets firing in the first light of the morning.
"I guess they're making a dawn attack upon the west wall" says the war engineer, who is in command of the defence of castle Measum.
They can't actually see to that side of the castle as the keep is in the way.
But further along the east wall, at the northern end, where the west side of the castle can be seen, a goblin soldier in the Farqian mercenary army calls out "They're advancing on the west wall!".
"Can you get us all over there?" asks Tovis the war engineer with a look directed at the sorceress who is a subaltern in the armies of Farque.
The young engineer from the kingdom of Druvic, indicates Dorc da Orc and Teabagger the Goblin Cunt as well, as they're walking back this way.
"Not all" is the reply of the dark haired, attractive young woman from the lands Farque.
"Too heavy" adds the sorceress who has switched to the elven language.
"Just me, you, the general and the goblin commander then" says the captain in the armies of Farque who has also switched to the elven language.
"I should be able to" says Heinë the sorceress in response to the commander of the engineering corp in the first army of Farque.
Tovis nods in understanding, then says in common to Shur Kee and sir Percavelle Lé Dic "Meet us over on the west wall".
Both the heavily armoured knight, and the short statured monk nod in understanding.
And the two of them move off, heading west through the largest castle in all of the south of the kingdom of Melaurn.
After Tovis gives a few orders to the captain of the castle guard Domall, who he wants over on the west wall of the castle once he's finished up with things here on the east side of the castle Measum.
The young engineer from the kingdom of Druvic, along with the large ork from the southern polar region of the world.
And the small, bright lurid green goblin who is from the northern province of Sorros, here in the kingdom of Melaurn.
And the Farqian spellcaster all disappear as the attractive sorceress teleports them away to the west side of the large castle, that's the ancestral home of the Measum family.
On top of the west wall of the castle, Dorc da Orc looks back eastwards, and chuckles when he spots his bitter rival sir Percavelle Le Dic walking around the main keep in the company of Shur Kee the monk.
The two of them have to walk through the town before they're able to cross the large open ground to the west wall of castle Measum.
The ork warleader then grunts as Tovis looks his way, and the war engineer says "Keep up Dorc".
As the commander of the engineering corp in the first army of Farque is heading to above the gates here on the west wall of the large castle.
The ork weaponsmith, along with the goblin commander Teabagger, follow after the young engineer and the sorceress Heinë.
As one of the trebuchets launches another load, this one a boulder.
Tovis the war engineer watches the enemy army, who are once again advancing upon the west side of castle Measum.
"They're hell bent on taking the castle, aren't they" quietly says the subcommander of the engineering corp.
The Druvician war engineer nods to that, then glances at Heinë, and asks the sorceress "Any idea why?".
"One of their commanders or senior officers will have to get close for me to find out" says the attractive looking spellcaster with the long, dark hair.
"Reading minds isn't exactly my specialty" dryly adds the sorceress from the lands Farque.
Tovis nods, then turns and looks at Dorc da Orc who has just joined them above the gates here on the west wall parapet, who has just said "Let the fuckers get close, then fucken capture one of the cunt officers they got".
The war engineer in command of the defence of the large castle that's the ancestral home of lord Measum's family, thinks about it for a moment, then says "Good idea".
Looking at his subcommander, and some of his other officers, captain Tovis says "Let them get close to the moat" followed by "And tell the archers not to pick off so many of their officers".
As his orders are followed, the young engineer originally from the kingdom of Druvic watches the enemy army, loyal to the crown and king of Melaurn, advancing upon castle Measum in the early morning light, of a relatively cool start to another summer's day here in province of Corlinda.
Relative being a subjective word to say the least, as it's still far too warm to the liking of the ork general, Dorc da Orc.
"Can you get one from just across the moat there?" quietly asks the war engineer in the elven language to the spellcaster beside him.
As he knows that a practitioner of magic has to be in touching distance with someone if they want to teleport them.
"Not by teleporting" is the reply from Heinë the sorceress in the same language.
"Though there's something else i can try that might work" continues the attractive looking young woman who is fairly powerful spellcaster.
The eyebrows of the war engineer lift up in surprise when he hears that, but he doesn't question her anymore about it.
Instead the commander of the engineering corp of the first army of Farque switches to the common language, and asks the ork warleader "What do you think they'll do this morning Dorc?".
The son of the previous matriarch of the wolf tribe of orks grunts, then says "Attack along most of the fucken wall, like they did yesterday".
The large ork as usual pronounces the word yesterday, as yes-turd-ay.
The big, burly ork from the frozen bottom of the world then loudly murmurs "Hmmmm".
And he points to the north flank of the advancing enemy army, and says "More of fucken cunts that way, than they had before".
The captain in the armies of Farque nods, then as the nearby ballista shoots off a ten foot longspear, Tovis asks the ork warleader "Think they're going to go for the tower at that end of the wall?".
"Fucken maybe" says Dorc da Orc or Dorkindle which is his given name.
"Fucken looks like it" adds the ork weaponsmith.
Who then looks down at Teabagger the Goblin Cunt, and says "Come on cunt, let's go".
The large ork, and the small, bright green goblin walk away, heading along the parapet of the long west wall of castle Measum, heading for the tower at the northwest corner of the large castle.
Meanwhile Tovis the war engineer along with Heinë the sorceress remain above the gates, waiting for the enemy to get to the moat that runs along the west side of castle Measum.
As the attractive sorceress will attempt to capture an enemy officer who gets close to the largest castle to be found throughout southern Melaurn . . . . . .
