Aftermath 59.

The Kaldel Plains...

"Anymore?" asks Pallen the blademaster "I'm not sure" replies Tim who looks at his brother Tom, who shrugs his shoulders.
The tall plainsman with the braided hair who is originally from the kingdom of Girdane, nods his head, then looks at his lover, Sasha the former mercenary, who quietly tells him "Might as well go in".
The good looking one eyed woman, who has a gnarly looking scar down one side of her face, then quietly tells her lover the dangerous blademaster "Be careful".
Pallen nods that he will, then he waves the others forward, they all move forward, and start making their way into the dirt and debris filled air that's throughout the center of the large village.
As they make their way back towards the clearing in the center of the village, Gorlic the former arena fighter quietly tells the couple Pallen and Sasha "That ork hasn't roared again".
The former arena fighter from the city-state of Brattonbury quietly continues with "And that knight is silent too".
Both the blademaster and the former mercenary are in agreement to that, then they along with Gorlic hear one of the other illegal wreckers, with those behind the brothers Tim and Tom say "Davon and a few others, including Sovirn are coming around this way".
"At least that's something i guess" quietly says Gorlic who hails from the coast of the Southlands, the former arena fighter then dryly adds "Just as long as the wizard doesn't fry any of us".
From infront of Gorlic, Pallen the blademaster grunts in agreement. For he like many other plainsmen, doesn't particularly trust spellcasters. Even the ones they closely work with.
"Wonder what happened to Samiel?" murmurs Sasha the former mercenary to her lover Pallen "Who knows" is the reply of the dangerous blademaster.
Who then steps into the thicker dirt and debris filled air closer to the clearing in the center of the village, a few moments after the brothers Tim and Tom, and the others with them away to the right.
Sasha is only a heartbeat behind Pallen as they're almost side by side. They're closely followed by the former arena fighter Gorlic. Then another of the illegal wreckers, Chisan. Who is quickly followed by a few others.
As they head back towards the center of the large village, to see if the ork, the knight, as well as the goblin who have attacked them and the village, are still alive.
Just to the east of the center of the village, upon a rooftop that he's climbed up onto, to try and get a clear look of things.
Dalinvardél Tanith the elven spy slightly frowns as his view of the center of the village is severely hampered by the dirt and debris filled air.
Even with his naturally enhanced eyesight, the spy Tanith is finding it difficult to penetrate the thick, dark air, to see what's going on.
Which is more than a little ironic, as the morning has dawned sunny and clear, though a little cold.
It's just that the center of the large village that the crew of illegal wreckers have been living in for more than a year now. Is quite dark, almost black.
And since there isn't much wind this morning, or even a steady breeze. The dirt and debris filled air has kind of just sunk down into the center of the village, and has stayed put.
Dalinvardél Tanith or Dalin as he's more commonly called by the others in the group, has stood up, and stands there looking towards the center of the village. Where a few moments ago, he heard Dorc da Orc roar again, followed by a shout of "Saint Mar-che!" from sir Percavelle Lé Dic after only silence from the two of them for a little while.
Now the large ork and the former earl of Lé Dic have fallen silent again. And the elven spy who hails from the principality of Alínlae, suspects the two of them are somewhere in the thick of the dirt and debris filled air in the center of the village.
The spy Tanith runs to his right, and leaps off the roof he's on, and lands on the roof of the roundhouse that's right next to the one he was just on.
The elf, who once served in one of the more prominent noble houses in his homeland of Alínlae, gets a better look just to the north of where there's a clearing in the center of the large village that a crew of illegal wreckers have called home for the last year or so.
The elven spy spots where the dirt and debris filled air isn't so thick, a couple of the illegal wreckers moving deeper towards the center of the village.
He's not entirely sure, but he's willing to bet on it, that they're following some more of the wreckers.
They disappear into the thicker dirt and debris filled air that's about, which was caused by an explosion that was underground. An explosion that Dalin is pretty certain he knows who caused it.
The spy Tanith briefly considers drawing his bow back and taking a blind shot. Instead he shoulders his bow, and quickly makes his way across the rooftop he's on.
At the edge of the roof, Dalinvardél Tanith drops down to the ground. Then the elven spy who is an officer in the scouts division in the armies of Farque. Makes his way around to the north. Where he'll make his way into the thick, dirt and debris filled air. And make his way towards the clearing in the center of the large village.
On the north side of the village, Beldane the cleric avoids a sword swung at him. And he smashes his mace into the leg of one of the illegal wreckers.
Who drops to the ground, briefly screaming in pain, until he's kicked flush in the face by Lisell Maera the runner.
Looking around, Beldane the cleric says "Is that all of them?". "All of them here" is the reply from Darid Parsen the cavalry commander as he walks over, unwrapping the traditional black hordes cloth from around the lower half of his face.
"Where did that plainsman go?" asks Lisell Maera the messenger, who continues with "Their leader, Arvelle".
"He ran off that way" says Tovis the war engineer as he walks over from the other direction.
The young engineer who hails from the kingdom of Druvic as he points deeper into the village, says "A couple others followed after him" he then adds "I think they went westwards".
Commander Parsen, who is also a member of the personal council to lord Farque, asks the others "Hear that loud explosion a little earlier?" he then adds "Just a bit after that thunderclap".
Nodding his head, the cleric in the church of Glaine, who is from the nearby kingdom of Nastell, says "That explosion was Mira" he then adds "Well, i should say one of his mageglobes".
"Nothing surprising there" dryly says the cavalry commander, who in actual fact is really a hordes outrider from the southern tundra by the name of Zubutai Timaginson. Who just happens to find himself inhabiting the body of Darid Parsen, who was a young foot soldier in the army of lady Linara Lé Dic, in the kingdom of Druvic.
"Somewhere in the center of the village" says the fighting cleric who is the most recent member of the group "Their mage and their wizard are that way" adds Beldane the cleric.
"And that sorceress?" asks Lisell Maera, who follows that up with "Sara is her name".
"Dead" says the powerful cleric from the kingdom of Nastell, who continues on with "I killed her and some others over there" as he points towards the roundhouse that he was waiting in. From where he ambushed the illegal wrecker Sara and her brother Famic, and a few others.
Lisell Maera who is more commonly called Lis by the others in the group steps back, and looks in the direction that Beldane has indicated, and she spots a few bodies on the ground that way in the morning sunshine.
The attractive young woman originally from the city-state of Brattonbury looks at commander Parsen and nods.
Darid aka Zubutai the barbarian hordesman slightly nods, then says "We go after their leader". He starts moving away, and as the others follow him, the member of lord Farque's personal council tells the other four "And any others we might see".
As the four of Darid Parsen, Lisell Maera, Tovis the war engineer and Beldane the cleric head into the large village, then make their way west through it.
Away to the east of the village, at least a good three miles away. Helbe the elven thief continues to avoid a mageglobe that's been chasing him for a bit. A mageglobe that's hell bent on catching the elven magic user.
The young elven noble from the island principality of Laerel, is down on the ground. He has unblurred himself, and is no longer shielding himself.
It's not necessary to do so, as the living piece of magic that's been chasing him. Knows where he is, no matter what he does.
The elven masterthief looks around as he senses, and locates the mageglobe, that he senses is rapidly approaching him again.
The young elven noble who is the grandson of the ruling prince of Laerel, who has warded himself.
Only has two real chances of getting free of the mageglobe. And that's if the mage who created it, the illegal wrecker Samiel, is killed.
Or if Narladene the ground pixie can distract it enough, that it comes to the end of it's life prematurely.
Because if neither one of those works, the highly talented elven magic user will have to let the mageglobe get close, where no doubt it'll end it's own life.
The elven master assassin will have to rely on his wards then. Which he suspects won't withstand whatever it is that the mageglobe will do. Which is more than likely to explode.
Helbe the elven thief shifts away, and when he reappears a bit further away to the east, he teleports away as the mageglobe continues on it's way towards him.
Sitting upon the mageglobe as it goes shooting eastwards through the clear and sunny morning sky. Narladene the ground pixie drums her bare feet upon the living piece of magic, trying to distract it from it's task.
"Blow up you stupid thing" mutters Narladene the ground pixie in the language of her race.
The naturally magical creature, who is originally from the Sunreach Mountains, sighs as the mageglobe created by the illegal wrecker Samiel, completely ignores her as it continues on it's way towards prince Helbenthril Raendril.
Who Narladene spots in the distance, teleporting further away to the east, as he continues to flee the living piece of magic that's chasing after him.
The tiny winged creature as she sits upon the apple sized mageglobe, hopes someone kills that mage Samiel soon. As she sees that's the only way to destroy the living piece of magic that's after Helbe the elven thief.
Back in the village, along the north side of the large village that the crew of illegal wreckers have been living in for the last year or so.
Their leader Arvelle the plainsman is working his way westwards, to the village green, and in particular the large, two storey house at the northwest corner of the village green.
The house that he's been living in ever since he and his crew took over this village, and another one just two and half miles away to the north, here in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains.
As he's made his way through the north side of the village, Arvelle, a tall, shaven headed plainsman. Has gathered some of his crew, here in this part of the large village they call home. Which has come under attack this, clear and sunny, though cold morning.
As they near the village green, one of the other wreckers who has gone on ahead to scout things out. Has stopped next to a roundhouse, and is waving for Arvelle and the others to hurry up and join him.
"What is it?" quietly asks Arvelle the plainsman when they get to the back of the house, that's close to the village green.
"Your place" says the illegal wrecker named Garret, who continues with "It's been destroyed, well i should say badly damaged".
"Shit" mutters the tall, shaven headed plainsman who leads the crew of illegal wreckers who have been bringing down airships across the Kaldel Plains for the last year or so.
"You can see it from around the otherside of this house" continues Garret, who like nearly half of the illegal wreckers, is originally from the kingdom of Nastell, which is the closest nation to the eastern region of the Kaldel Plans.
As they head around the roundhouse, Garret quietly says to the tall plainsman with the shaved head "This end looks fairly intact and in one piece" followed by "The far end not so much, it's basically gone".
The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers slightly winces when he hears that. Then when they get around the roundhouse and they look across the village green, Arvelle sees it to be true.
The tall plainsman as he looks at the two storey house across on the northwest corner of the village green that he's been living in.
Frowns as he sees the state it's in. This near side, the east side, is basically untouched. Arvelle continues to frown as that's the end the rest of their fortune is stored in. After Mac the dwarf stole some of their loot. Or so Arvelle and the other illegal wreckers believe.
"Anyone see anyone go into my place?" quietly asks the tall plainsman with the shaved head, the others with him, shake their heads no.
And their leader looks around, when Garret says "There, there's some of the others" as he points to the southeast corner of the village green.
Where two more of their fellow wreckers can be seen, heading up this way.
And when they join them to the side of the roundhouse, Arvelle quickly asks them if they've seen anyone enter his place.
The pair of wreckers quickly tell their leader what's happened. How three men, used one of the magetubes in the large house on the south side of the village green to destroy at least half of his house.
Then the three of them crossed the village green, and then entered Arvelle's place.
The tall plainsman with the shaved head, who is annoyed that the twins Sara and Famic, along with the others with them, aren't still here protecting his abode, more specifically the treasure that it contains.
Quietly says to Garret and the others with him "We clear those three out of my place" he follows that with "I bet the bastards are trying to steal our fortune".
The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers nods for them to proceed, and as they start to head across the village green, walking through the smoke that's coming off one of the stripped down airships that's well and truly ablaze.
He asks the two wreckers who saw what happened here, what the three men look like who entered the badly damaged two storey house on the northwest corner of the village green.
That's an odd looking lot if I've heard of one, Arvelle the plainsman thinks to himself when he hears the description of the trio who entered his place.
In the two storey house in question, Mira Reinholt the mage looks out the north facing window in the room, and teleports another of the chests away.
"This is going to take a while" says Tamric Drubine the field commander as he carries another of the chests full of gold and silver closer to the window that the once powerful mage is standing next to.
"Beats carrying them all out of here" says Mira Reinholt the mage, Tamric Drubine or Tam as he's more commonly called by the others in the group, grunts in both agreement and with effort as he puts the chest down next to the spellcaster from the city-state of Vexil.
"You'll have to give me a hand with those larger ones" says the nobleborn teenager who is originally from the feudal kingdom of Sarcrin as he points to the ships lockers across the room "They're bloody heavy" adds the young field commander in the armies of Farque.
Then Tam along with the mage Reinholt turn to the door to the hallway when they hear Shur Kee the monk hurrying through the hallway.
"There is a group of those wreckers across on the east side of the village green" says Shur Kee the monk when he enters the room, the short, statured monk continues with "It looks like they are heading this way".
The spellcaster from the city-state of Vexil who is also a highly skilled swordmaster, says to the other two "Let's go and see what they want" Mira Reinholt then adds in a slightly dry tone of voice "I'm guessing it's not a friendly visit and chat they're after this morning" . . . . . .

Aftermath 58.

The Kaldel Plains...

Dorc da Orc sourly smiles as he looks at Teabagger the goblin Cunt who is getting up off the floor as the dirt filled air from outside wafts into the front room of the large house they're in.
The ork warleader grunts as he tries to sit up again, then winces as he realises he's probably got some broken ribs by the feel of it.
"Fucknuts" growls Dorc da Orc, while next to him, sir Percavelle Lé Dic who is also struggling to sit up, says "Indeed wot" as he too is also battered and bruised, though not as severely as the large ork.
After picking himself up off the floor, Teabagger the goblin Cunt hurries to the two still lying on the floor amongst bits of broken wood and stonework.
"Are you alright boss?" asks Teabagger the goblin Cunt who then quickly adds "I mean general".
"Yeah cunt" says the big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world, who waves a hand in a dismissive manner as he rolls himself onto his side, which illicits a groan from Dorkindle.
"And you sir knight?" asks the small, bright green goblin who is originally from the kingdom of Melaurn.
"Perfectly fine my small green fellow" is the reply from the heavily armoured knight, who then grunts in effort as he tries to sit up.
The goblin who is the commander of the battalion of goblins in the armies of Farque helps the nobleborn knight from the kingdom of Druvic to sit up.
For the simple reason it's far easier to, because it's impossible to help his general, who weighs over seven hundred and fifty pounds.
"That's a good chap" says the former paladin when he sits up with the aid of the goblin commander.
Then the knight in the order of Saint Mar-che looks through the dirt and debris filled air, to the large hole in the front of the house that was created when Dorc da Orc came crashing through it, and the nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic followed him through it a few moments later.
As Teabagger says "Some of those wreckers are still out in that clearing" the small, bright lurid green goblin continues with "And i heard some others behind the clearing, talking about coming this way to see if the two of you are still alive".
"You hear that beast?" asks sir Percavelle Lé Dic as he looks at the ork weaponsmith who is grunting and groaning as he pushes himself upright.
"Yeah me hear cunt" growls Dorkindle who with a final grunt, sits himself upright then takes a deep breath.
"Best we vanquish these foul villains who doth struck us down out of sky, twice!" says the former earl of Lé Dic, a fief located in the eastern region of the kingdom of Druvic.
The warleader of the ork race who is a general in the armies of Farque, grunts in agreement at that. Then sourly smiles as he realises he's just agreed with his bitter rival.
The former knight of the first class then murmurs "Hmmm" then knowing somewhat of the abilities of his rival, the ork general, he asks the big, burly ork from the frozen bottom of the world "Are those fiendish purveyors of the magical arts still out there, wot?" he continues with "Can you smell their evil scent with that hideous honker of yours?".
"Huh?" says Dorc da Orc, who then adds "What you fucken say cunt?".
Forestalling an inevitable argument between the two bitter rivals, Teabagger quickly says to the large ork "He wants to know if you can smell those spellcasters out there boss" the goblin commander quickly adds "General".
The son of the former matriarch of the wolf tribe of orks grunts, and with a sideways look at the nobleborn knight, he mutters "Why you not fucken say so ya cunt".
The ork warleader then says "Me just see if me can fucken sniff them magicky cunts out".
As Dorkindle breathes deeply in through his nostrils to try and find the location of the spellcasters who attacked them. Sir Percavelle Lé Dic waves off to the side, and says to Teabagger "Be a good chap and gather my shield wot".
As the goblin commander retrieves the magical shield for the nobleborn knight, who attempts to stand.
The large ork repeatedly sniffs, as he tries to locate the two practitioners of magic, one of whom is a mage, that attacked them.
Dorc da Orc can smell dirt, a lot of dirt. As well as broken bits of rock, and wood. From one of the houses on the edge of the clearing that was caught up in the large underground explosion.
After a few moments of repeatedly sniffing, the large ork starts catching the scent of the people outside, in the clearing, and close by.
But what the ork warleader is trying to discern, is the location of the pair of spellcasters, who he knows were on the southern side of the clearing where a wagon track intersects a wide path, here in the center of the large village.
And after a few more moments of sniffing, that's where Dorkindle smells them. The mage, and the other spellcaster. Who are still on the south side of the clearing.
The big, burly ork who is from the southern polar region of the world, who wishes the morning was a lot colder than it actually is.
Listens carefully as he also sniffs. And after a moment or two, Dorc da Orc grunts then says "Them magicky cunts still out there near the same place" and after a brief pause, he adds "The fuckers not moving".
"Dead?" asks sir Percavelle Lé Dic as he takes his shield from Teabagger the goblin Cunt.
"Don't fucken know" is the reply of the weaponsmith from the wolf tribe of orks, who then adds in a mutter "Too much fucken dirt in the air to tell".
As he sits there with the faceplate of his full helm open, the former paladin who is part of the Knights of the order of Saint Mar-che, thoughtfully nods his head, then says "Those two villains of the dark arts must of got caught up in that large explosion wot".
The nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic continues with "I dare say it was one of our purveyors of magic who doth caused that explosion".
"Killer" sourly says Dorkindle who continues with "Fucken Mira". As he knows out of the trio of spellcasters in the group at the moment. It's the mage Reinholt who caused that explosion out in the clearing.
As the once powerful mage, compared to Helbe the elven thief, and Beldane the cleric. Likes to blow things up. And though the Vexilian mage in exile is more circumspect compared to when he was younger.
He still isn't all that fussy about who gets caught up in his explosions. Just as long as he hits his target.
The ork warleader who has a fair idea that his long time traveling companion, Mira Reinholt targeted that mage amongst the illegal wreckers.
Says to the nobleborn knight and the goblin commander "We go and make sure them magicky cunts are dead" followed by "And kill any of the other fuckheads out there".
Both the nobleborn knight from the kingdom of Druvic, and the small, bright green goblin from the kingdom of Melaurn nod in agreement.
Then sir Percavelle Lé Dic or Percy as he's more commonly called by the others in the group goes to stand with the assistance of Teabagger, whilst learning on his shield.
Bext to them, Dorc da Orc grunts and growls, and mutters away to himself in the incomprehensible language of the orks as he attempts to stand up.
Out in the clearing in the center of the large village, over on the south side, a bit further back, infront of one of the nearby roundhouses.
Davon the wizard grimaces as he rolls over, with the help of someone.
He blinks, and looks up and in the air thick with dirt and debris, he sees it's the plainswoman Sovirn kneeling next to him, and with blood running down one side of her face, she asks him "You alright Davon?".
"I think so" says Davon the wizard who wonders how the hell did the fire beam spell contained in the spell gem he threw at the knight. Rebound, and come back and hit him with more force and more speed. Almost completely destroying his wards, and nearly killing him.
The wizard, who is originally from the city-state of Andelka, sits up with the assistance of Sovirn. Then Davon who is once again holding his power within himself, looks around, trying to pierce the dirt filled air, and says "You know where Samiel is?".
The plainswoman nods back towards the clearing in the center of the village, and says "Back there" followed by "He was right in the middle of that explosion".
And what the hell caused that? Davon thinks to himself, the wizard who doesn't want to think about the possibilities of who, or what caused that.
Sees movement through the dirt filled air that's in and around the center of the large village that the crew of illegal wreckers have been living in for the last year or so.
Sovirn looks that way too, and they watch two more of the wreckers, dragging a third between them, as they come out of the dirt and debris filled air, heading this way to the front of one of the roundhouses, just back from the southern side of the clearing in the center of the large village.
They see that the body the two other wreckers are dragging is Samiel the mage, who is either unconscious or dead.
And when the powerful mage from the city-state of Tuledare is laid out next to Davon, the wizard sees that his fellow spellcaster is just unconscious, and thankfully not dead.
Well, at least that's something, Davon thinks to himself, who after a moment realises he's just battered and bruised, and that there's nothing actually wrong with him, apart from being briefly knocked out.
The spellcaster who is from the city-state of Andelka, stands up with the assistance of Sovirn and one of the other wreckers.
Then he looks down at the unconscious mage and says "Might be best if we can get him inside somewhere" followed by "And I'll heal him".
The plainswoman Sovirn nods, then just as they go to grab Samiel to carry him inside the roundhouse they're infront of, they hear the roar of that ork from somewhere amongst the dirt and debris filled air on the otherside of the clearing.
A moment later they hear the knight shout "Saint Mar-che!".
"What the fuck?" mutters Sovirn, who then adds "How's that thing still alive?" followed by "How are they both still alive?".
The Andelkan wizard just grunts to that, as he has no idea how the ork is still alive, or for that matter in one piece. And the same for that knight too.
As the lightning bolt cast by Samiel the mage, should of burnt the ork to a crisp. Instead it just flung him backwards through the air with force. A bit like that knight after he was hit by that spell gem i threw, Davon thinks to himself, who briefly contemplates why that is.
And coming to the quick conclusion that magic has to be involved, with both the large ork and the heavily armoured knight.
The wizard briefly stops holding his power within himself, as he senses as best as he can, towards and into the nearby clearing here in the center of the large village, that the crew of illegal wreckers have called home for the last year or so.
Davon concentrates, then he senses a magical item, infact two of them, from over on the otherside of the clearing where a wagon track crosses a wide path through the center of the village.
Sensing magical items or equipment is difficult, especially if you can't see them. But the two the wizard from Andelka senses, seem to be fairly powerful.
And if he's not mistaken, one is armour of some kind, and the other is a weapon. He'd have to see them, to confirm that.
That knight's shield perhaps? Davon thinks to himself, as he recalls the spell contained in the spell gem he threw, rebounded off the large shield the heavily armoured knight was carrying infront of him.
"Huh?" says the wizard who then adds "Yes" in response to Sovirn asking him "Should we take Samiel inside?" as she points at the roundhouse they're infront of.
As the two wreckers who carried the unconscious mage here, pick him up, and carry him inside the house.
Davon moves forward towards the clearing, where the dirt and debris filled air is thicker.
He's followed by the plainswoman Sovirn, and they head around the large crater in the ground caused by the underground explosion.
They're soon joined by the two others who have just carried Samiel the mage into the nearby house.
Then Davon the wizard as he tries to peer through the dirt and debris filled air to look across the otherside of the clearing here in the center of the village.
He looks at other three wreckers with him, and quietly says to them "That ork isn't roaring anymore".
"And that knight isn't shouting like he was before" quietly says Sovirn as she wipes some of the blood off the side of her face.
The spellcaster from the city-state of Andelka nods, then says "We've got to be careful" he continues with "There's magic involved with these two, pretty powerful magic at that".
Then the wizard leads the other three around the clearing and the center of the village, to come at it from another side.
After Dorc da Orc roars, and sir Percavelle Lé Dic shouts out the name of the saint who founded his knightly order.
Teabagger the goblin Cunt says to them "Maybe we should be quiet" followed by "And take them by surprise" the small, bright green goblin then silently adds in a dry tone, which you two loudmouths have blown.
The big, burly ork from the southern polar region, and the nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic look down at the goblin commander, then the two bitter rivals share a look.
The ork warleader grunts in the affirmative at that suggestion from Teabagger, while the former paladin says "Verily" followed by "Smart idea wot".
Then the three of them move forward through the dirt and debris filled air, with both Dorc da Orc and sir Percavelle Lé Dic both moving stiffly as they do, and limping as well.
They step out through the large hole in the front wall of the house, and on the front steps, the former earl of Lé Dic as he tries to see anything across the clearing, quietly says to the large ork "Which way beast?" follow by "Where be these purveyors of the dark arts?".
Dorkindle who is sniffing, points then says in a grunt "Fucken there" the ork general briefly pauses, before adding "No wait, fucken that way" followed by "One of them magicky cunts is moving".
The ork weaponsmith who can smell that the mage is in one spot, and not moving, points in the direction the other spellcaster is heading, then says to Percy and Teabagger "Come on cunts".
And he leads them down the steps, and into the thick dirt and debris filled air, to cross the clearing here in the center of the village, to head over to the west side behind the clearing . . . . . .

Aftermath 57.

The Kaldel Plains...

Pallen the blademaster doesn't know what exactly happens. But one moment he sees a bright flash across on the otherside of the clearing here in the center of the village. Followed by a clap of thunder.
He briefly turns his head away, then looks back across the clearing that's in shade. And he spots the knight they were chasing, flying backwards through the air, propelled by what looks like a beam of solid fire.
The tall plainsman who is originally from the kingdom of Girdane sees the other end of the beam of solid fire strike something near one of the roundhouses at the southwest corner of the clearing where the wagon track that goes south, north. Crosses the wide path that goes from east to west, here in the center of the large village.
"What was that?" asks Pallen the blademaster who turns to his lover, Sasha the former mercenary who replies with "I think that's Samiel and Davon over there" as she nods to the opposite side of the clearing that's in shade at this time of the morning.
Then as the dangerous blademaster looks over to that side of the clearing, there's a large, and rather loud explosion that comes from over there.
That sends both Pallen, and his lover Sasha stumbling sideways, then falling to the ground. While behind them, Gorlic the former arena fighter mutters "Fucking hell" as he staggers backwards, and falls down on his rear end.
As he's on his hands and knees, Pallen looks up and sees a cloud of dirt and debris mushroom up into the sky from the otherside of the clearing.
He blinks as he thinks he sees something slightly glowing blue within it, that goes up, then comes back down to the ground as the dirt and debris starts falling down across the center of the village.
"Get up" says Pallen, who then adds "Move" as he grabs Sasha and helps her up as he stands.
The couple, both originally from the kingdom of Girdane, back away, almost tripping over Gorlic who is struggling to stand up.
The two of them help the former arena fighter from the city-state of Brattonbury to stand up, and the three of them back away as dirt and debris continues to rain down upon the center of the village.
They stop about twenty yards back from where they were, and look around. The dangerous blademaster spots the brothers Tim and Tom, and a few of the other wreckers. Run out of the falling debris away to the right, to the west of the clearing.
"What happened?" calls out the tall plainsman, both the brothers Tim and Tom look around, and when they spot Pallen, Sasha and Gorlic, the slightly older brother Tim calls back "Explosion in the ground over on the south side of the path!".
"Where the spellcasters were standing next to a house!" adds the younger brother Tom, who could easily pass as his older brother's twin.
Then Tim calls out "You see what happened to that ork and that knight?".
"I saw that knight go flying backwards through the air!" calls out Pallen as dirt and debris continues to fall across the center of the village, though not too badly where they're standing.
"So did that ork!" says Tom who then adds "Towards the large house that the mage is living in!".
The tall plainsman nods his head, while next to him his lover Sasha quietly says "I thought i saw them get flung back towards that house".
Just then, another of the wreckers comes stumbling out of falling debris and dirt, coughing as he does so. He comes to a stop when Pallen grabs him, and holds him upright.
"You okay?" asks the dangerous blademaster originally from the kingdom of Girdane.
The wrecker, Chisan nods his head then after coughing again says in a croaky voice "That damn goblin nearly gutted me" he continues with "As it ran into the mage's house".
Pallen lets go of Chisan, who gladly takes the water bottle that Gorlic hands him, and takes a drink.
Then the tall plainsman looks at his lover Sasha, and quietly says "Best we better find out if that ork and knight are dead".
The good looking, one eyed woman who has a gnarly looking scar down one side of her face nods in agreement, then says "Not by ourselves" followed by "Just in case".
Pallen nods, then waves to the brothers Tim and Tom, and the others with them and calls out "See if you can find any of the others!" the dangerous blademaster then adds "There's something we have to find out about".
"What was that?" asks Tamric Drubine from over on the otherside of the village, at the northwest corner of the village green as they make their way through the half destroyed two storey house that the leader of the crew of illegal wreckers, Arvelle the plainsman has been living in.
"My mageglobe" says Mira Reinholt the mage who has stopped just ahead of the nobleborn teenager from the feudal kingdom of Sarcrin.
"Did it get who you were after?" asks the young field commander in the armies of Farque, who is behind the once powerful mage, and infront of Shur Kee the monk.
"Maybe" quietly says the spellcaster who is from the city-state of Vexil as he senses towards the east, towards the center of the large village that they, and the rest of the group are attacking on this sunny, but chilly morning here in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains.
"I'm not sure" says the spellcaster who is also a highly skilled swordmaster, who doesn't know if the mage amongst the wreckers he targeted with his mageglobe is dead, or simply unconscious. Either way, he's out of action again. After earlier being knocked out as he attempted to read the mind of Dorc da Orc.
The mage Reinholt who briefly contemplates creating another mageglobe, decides not to. And instead continues on his way through the rubble strewn hallway they're in, Tamric Drubine and Shur Kee the monk follow after him.
"I think we might of done too good of a job with that magetube" dryly says the young field commander who is commonly called Tam by the others in the group.
"Probably" says the spellcaster who was once the most powerful mage of his generation to be found anywhere in the Southlands. Until he lost most of his powers when he went offworld through a rift/void that he accidentally cast.
"At least we've kept most of them away from this part of the village" adds the mage who is in exile from his homeland, the city-state of Vexil.
They climb over bits of broken debris, mostly wood from fallen walls, as well as stone, as they head through a hallway to get to the rooms at the east end of the house, the end that for the most part is still in one piece.
The swordmaster Reinholt finally climbs over the last pile of rubble, and ends up in clear part of the hallway.
He heads to the first door, followed by the nobleborn teenager from the kingdom of Sarcrin, and the short, statured monk who is from beyond the Southlands, the far east coast of the continent, where the kingdom of Wah Lee is found.
Mira Reinholt who is a member of the personal council to the lord and ruler of the lands Farque, opens the door and looks into a room, that looks like it's being used for storage.
Tam pops his head into the room and looks around too, then the son and former heir of a previous knight of Castle Drubine, a castle located in the heavily forested north of the kingdom of Nastell, says "They're not in here".
The Vexilian mage in exile nods his head, then steps back out into the hallway, and leads the way to the next room.
The spellcaster who is also a highly skilled swordmaster, who is sensing as he makes his way through the damaged house. Opens the door to the next room, and looks in, then Mira Reinholt says "Chests and strongboxes in here".
"That's them" says field commander Drubine when he looks into the room. "There's a fair bit" quietly says the once powerful mage as he makes his way further into the room.
He checks to see if there's no surprises on the various chests and strongboxes, and with a single thought he opens one of the large chests.
The mage Reinholt whistles in appreciation when he sees how much gold and silver coins is stashed in the large chest.
"That is a lot" says Shur Kee the monk who follows Tamric Drubine into the room, and sees what's in the open chest.
The nobleborn teenager from the feudal kingdom of Sarcrin, who is now a field commander in the armies of Farque, points at a small barrel chest, that looks like a cask of wine or fortified spirits, and he says "That will be full of either precious jewels".
He briefly pauses as he looks over at councillor Reinholt before adding "Or unused spell gems".
The eyebrows of the once powerful mage lift up when he hears that, then he lifts up one of the small, barrel like chests, and opens the top end of it with a thought.
"Hell" mutters Mira Reinholt, who continues in a mutter with "By the shape of fire" as he sees all the clear cut gems, flawless for the use as spell gems.
"That's a damn fortune" says the highly skilled swordmaster from the city-state of Vexil.
"Look there, there's two more over there that could be full of them too" says Tam who continues with "And we already took two of them, when we stole from them the other night".
"No wonder they were all riled up" quietly says the once powerful mage, who takes quick stock of what's here in this room, then he says to the other two with him "We've definitely scored a treasure here" the Vexilian mage in exile then adds "These wreckers have amassed themselves quite a fortune here" he briefly pauses before saying "And now it's ours".
More to the east here on the north side of the village that the crew of illegal wreckers has called home for the last year or so.
Their leader, Arvelle the plainsman has fled the fight he was engaged in with those who have attacked the village this morning, here in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains.
The tall plainsman with the shaved head thought he and the others with him were holding their own against the trio who were attacking them. The trio all wearing at least a black tabbard, or black cloak. The fellow around six foot tall who had a black cloth wrapped around his face. The lean, athletic, attractive looking young woman. And the sturdy looking young man in the long black leather smock, that looked like a blacksmith's apron.
Until the trio were joined by a fourth, who without a doubt turned the battle in their favour. As he was in half plate armour, wielding a mace.
Arvelle immediately recognised that young man as a cleric in the church of Glaine.
He's seen many of them over the years here on the Kaldel Plains. They come over from the kingdom of Nastell, trying to convert the plainsmen to their church.
This one wasn't trying to that, he was trying to kill Arvelle and the other wreckers with him, and was doing a pretty good job at it. Until the tall plainsman, turned and ran.
As he knew he had no chance up against a heavily armed and armoured cleric who can also wield magic.
The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers first headed south, deeper into the large village. Until he heard a clap of thunder rock the village, from somewhere near the center of the village.
And just a short while after that, just mere moments to be exact. There came the sound of a large explosion.
Which Arvelle saw the aftereffects of, when he saw in the morning light, a cloud of debris and dirt, mushroom up into the early morning sky in the very center of the village. Debris and dirt that would quickly rain down upon that part of the large village.
The tall plainsman with the shaved head has now turned west, and is heading for the village green. In particular to the two storey house on the northwest corner of the village green, that he's been living in since they took over this village just over a year ago.
Arvelle who has gathered some of the other wreckers with him, intends to secure the treasure he has stored in that two storey house. And load it up in a couple of the wagons, and get clear of the village.
At least until the others can either drive away those attacking them, or even better, kill them.
Until then, the leader of the crew of illegal wreckers is taking no chances. Especially after the theft of some of their fortune at the hands of his longtime friend, Mac the dwarf. Or so he believes.
So he's going to secure their treasure, and get it away to safety until the village is securely back in their hands. And those attacking them are either killed or driven off.
When the ground explodes on the south side of the clearing in the center of the large village. Teabagger the goblin Cunt is knocked off his feet.
The small, bright green goblin who is originally from the kingdom of Melaurn, who a few moments ago had his general, Dorc da Orc go flying over him, followed by the former paladin sir Percavelle Lé Dic.
Lies there on the ground wondering if he's going to die as debris and dirt rains down all around him. Then realising he's not, the goblin commander gets to his feet.
The air is thick with dirt and debris, and Teabagger covers his mouth and nose with a corner of his cloak as he looks around and tries to orientate himself.
The small, bright lurid green goblin has the advantage of his race that allows him to see in the dark, as well as enhanced hearing.
The commander of the goblin battalion in the armies of Farque quickly spots the outline of the large house that his general and the heavily armoured knight went flying into.
Teabagger who figures they're both alive, as he knows it'll take a lot more than whatever it was that hit them, to kill either one of them.
Heads through the falling dirt and debris towards the large house, that's on the northeast corner of the clearing here in the center of the village.
The goblin commander who nearly trips over a couple of times doesn't worry about the falling debris that's thick in the air, for as far as he can tell nothing large has fallen.
Everything has been blasted to pieces so small, that it looks like thick dust particles in the air.
What the small, bright green goblin does worry about is what he hears, then sees coming blindly towards him from the right.
Teabagger struggles to draw his small sword that gets tangled up in his cloak. And quickly stabs at one of the illegal wreckers who is coughing, and holding out a hand infront of himself trying to figure out where he's going.
The man yelps when he's nearly skewered by the goblin commander's sword. The only reason Teabagger misses is because the wrecker stumbled sideways when the small, bright green goblin stabbed at him.
The illegal wrecker hurries blindly away to get away from the goblin commander who sourly smiles as he watches the fellow flee.
Then Teabagger continues on his way, walking just a few more yards, and makes his way up the front steps of the large house.
He doesn't bother going through the front door, instead he goes through the large hole next to it.
Teabagger the goblin Cunt hurries inside saying "Boss, boss you okay?" as he sees both his general along with the former earl of Lé Dic, lying on the floor here in the front room of the large house, trying to sit up.
As the small, bright green goblin hurries to them, he trips and lands face first on the floor, which illicits a wheezing sounding "Fucken gob-a-lin" from Dorc da Orc . . . . . .

Aftermath 56.

The Kaldel Plains...

Dorc da Orc looks around, amongst those illegal wreckers on the various sides of the shaded clearing here in the center of the large village.
He instantly recognises it's the trio who chased after sir Percavelle Lé Dic from the north side of the village. Who are the most able and skilled of the illegal wreckers here.
Those three were also over on the east side of the village, when he and Teabagger the goblin Cunt made their way towards the village before dawn this cold, but sunny morning in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains.
The ork warleader narrows his eyelids as he looks at them, and though he dismisses them as being any kind of threat to him, they may inflict damage upon the two others with him.
That being the goblin commander Teabagger, as well as sir Percavelle Lé Dic. And though the large ork couldn't care less if the knight in the order of Saint Mar-che got himself killed.
It's another matter when it comes to the small, bright green goblin from the kingdom of Melaurn who leads the goblin battalion in the armies of Farque.
The big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world ignores the arrow that thuds into his upper left arm, and he roars.
While to his left, not wanting to be outdone, sir Percavelle Lé Dic shouts "Saint Mar-che!" in an exuberant tone of voice.
Then as the ork weaponsmith is about to attack across the clearing, he suddenly pauses as he catches wind of something.
The large ork looks quickly away to his left, to the south, to be exact, the southwest of the clearing that's nearly completely in shadow at this time of the morning.
To a roundhouse, next to which the arrow that just hit him in the arm came from.
And the son of the former matriarch of the wolf tribe of orks spots a number of the illegal wreckers there. Including the plainswoman with a bow, who just shot the big, burly ork and is taking another arrow from her quiver.
It's not them who has suddenly got the attention of the ork general in the armies of Farque, it's who is behind them, out of sight, behind that particular roundhouse that's got his attention.
Dorkindle may not be able to sense magic, but he like all orks can sure smell magic, or to be exact, practitioners of magic.
And what he smells coming from behind that particular roundhouse on the southwest corner of the clearing in shade, fair reeks of magic.
And not only that, the warleader of the ork race can smell the same mage who attempted to read his mind earlier before dawn, who fell into unconsciousness doing so.
That mage is now with another spellcaster, that the large ork is absolutely certain of.
"Cunt" growls Dorc da Orc as he glances down at the large, heavily armoured knight beside him "Knight" adds the ork weaponsmith.
"What you putrid smelling fiend?" asks sir Percavelle Lé Dic who was just about to attack the illegal wreckers around this clearing, as he thought that's what the large ork was just about to do.
"Magicky cunts" says the warleader of the ork race who is a general in the armies of Farque "Fucken there" adds Dorkindle to indicate where as he continues with "Behind that fucken house".
"Oh?" says the former earl of Lé Dic, a nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic.
"Two of the fuckers" says Dorc da Orc, sir Percavelle Lé Dic nods his full helmed head, then closes the visor of helm as he lifts the shield of Saint Mar-che up infront of him.
"Then let us deal to these minions of magic, and vanquish them wot" declares the former paladin, who like the ork weaponsmith, doesn't particularly care for magic or those who practice it, unless it benefits them in some way.
The big, burly ork who hails from the frozen bottom of the world grunts, then growls "There's them cunts" when the two spellcasters in question come into view behind the others next to the roundhouse at the southwest corner of the clearing that's mostly in shadow.
Then after Dorkindle glances back at Teabagger the goblin Cunt and tells him "Stay the fuck behind us".
Which the small, bright green goblin definitely intends to do, as he thinks it's only a total idiot who would want to get infront of either his general or the knight in the order of Saint Mar-che.
Dorc da Orc and sir Percavelle Lé Dic take off running across the clearing, heading to the southwest corner, to the roundhouse that has a handful of illegal wreckers next to it. Two of whom are spellcasters, Samiel the mage and Davon the wizard.
"Stand aside!" shouts Samiel the mage in a commanding tone as the ork and the knight run this way across the small clearing where the wagon track and the wide path cross, here in the center of the large village.
Those wreckers standing infront of Samiel and the wizard beside him, hurry out of their way as they step forward then apart as they get a few yards between themselves.
Then the powerful mage from the city-state of Tuledare and the wizard from the city-state of Andelka stop holding their power within themselves.
When they do, Samiel goes to cast a spell at the large ork running through the shadows in this direction.
While Davon throws what he's been holding in his right hand. The two spellcasters in the crew of illegal wreckers then put up wards around them just as precaution as you'll never know what could happen.
There's the flash of a lightning bolt that leaves the right hand of Samiel that's accompanied by a loud clap of thunder that rocks most of the village, especially here in the center of it.
The bolt of lightning strikes the big, burly ork right in the middle of his chest, to be precise the strange plate of black armour he wears.
While what Davon throws, rather accurately as it turns out. Hits the shield of the knight, hitting it dead in the center.
What the wizard has thrown is a small gem, which contains a spell, it's a spell gem, that shatters on impact, releasing the spell that's within it.
Dorc da Orc is struck by a bolt of lighting, which picks him up, and flings him backwards, throwing him back in the direction he came from.
The large ork who grunts from the impact, goes flying over Teabagger, as he goes back to where he was just standing, then beyond that to where he crashes through the front wall of the large house that Samiel the mage has been living in here in the village that the crew of illegal wreckers have taken over.
Dorkindle lands with a thud, and as he lies there on the floor, with a grimace of pain on his feral looking face, and as he's out of breath as he's had the wind knocked out of him.
He pats the black plate of natural dragon armour he wears over his chest and ample stomach.
"Goods dragony armour" gasps Dorc da Orc as he lies upon the floor in the front room of the large house, surrounded by bits of wood and stonework from the wall he just went flying backwards through.
The moment after the ork warleader goes flying back through the air as he's struck by a powerful bolt of lightning, sir Percavelle Lé Dic's shield is hit by the spell gem thrown by Davon the wizard.
The spell gem, or spelled gem as they're sometimes referred as. Shatters upon the large, heavily armoured knight's shield.
When it shatters, it releases the spell that's been contained in the gem. The spell is a beam of solid fire. The force of which, propels sir Percavelle Lé Dic backwards through the air.
The former knight of the first class, who belongs to the order of Saint Mar-che. Goes tumbling backwards through the air, in the direction he came from.
The nobleborn knight from the kingdom of Druvic passes over Teabagger the goblin Cunt, who a couple of moments ago had his general go flying backwards over him too.
The former earl of Lé Dic, continues tumbling through the air, wincing as he does so. Until he flies backwards through the large hole in the front wall of the large house that Dorc da Orc went flying backwards into.
Sir Percavelle Lé Dic disappears inside too, and comes to a sudden stop when he smashes into the ork warleader who is struggling to sit up.
The heavily armoured knight could of gone flying backwards much further and a whole lot faster if the spell gem hadn't shattered upon his shield.
For the shield of Saint Mar-che is magical, and it's magical properties it has is to deflect at least half of a spell, and send it back in the direction it came from.
And that's exactly what the shield of Saint Mar-che does in this case, sending at least half of the spell back in the direction the spell gem came from as sir Percavelle Lé Dic goes tumbling backwards through the air.
The beam of solid fire goes back along the path the spell gem was thrown from. And though it's only half of the spell that does go back in that direction. It goes back a lot quicker, and a lot more powerfully than the half that's sent the former paladin flying.
The beam of solid fire slams into the wards that Davon the wizard has put up around himself.
The wizard from the city-state of Andelka stands there in surprise as he's hit by the spell that was contained in the spell gem.
He's even more surprised, when his wards are almost completely destroyed. So much so, that they can't withstand the force of the beam of solid fire.
And the Andelkan spellcaster finds himself tumbling backwards across the ground from the force of the beam of solid fire. That the remainder of his wards, barely hold out.
He comes to a stop infront of the next roundhouse behind the one he was standing next to. Davon lies there dazed, unable to fully comprehend what's actually just happened to him.
Standing a few yards to the right of the wizard from the city-state of Andelka. Samiel the mage who first of all is stunned the powerful lightning bolt he just cast, didn't turn the ork into cinders. And instead sent him flying backwards across the clearing in the center of the village.
Then blinks in surprise as the beam of solid fire that sends the knight flying, rebounds off the shield the heavily armoured knight is carrying, and comes back this way, and hits Davon the wizard.
Whose barrier and protection spells are almost stripped away to nothing, as he's sent tumbling backwards across the ground.
Wincing, Samiel goes to turn to see where the wizard from the city-state of Andelka ends up.
When he frowns as all of a sudden he senses a mageglobe that's extremely close by. At first the powerful spellcaster from the city-state of Tuledare thinks it's his own mageglobe that he created earlier, just after he regained consciousness, but this mageglobe feels completely different.
Samiel looks sharply down at the ground beneath him, which suddenly erupts upwards in an explosion, a rather large explosion at that, which is caused by a mageglobe coming to the end of it's existence.
Samiel, a spellcaster smart enough, and experienced enough to put his wards all around him, including beneath him.
Goes flying upwards into the morning sky, amongst a cloud of debris, as the ground, as well as nearly half of the house he was standing next to is blasted skywards in the explosion.
Two of the other wreckers standing nearby are torn apart in the powerful explosion that sends Samiel up into the air.
Other wreckers who are close to the explosion, are either knocked down to the ground, or go stumbling and staggering away as the ground erupts upwards where the powerful mage was standing.
Even those on the direct opposite side of the clearing in the shade, here in the center of the village. Are sent stumbling away as they try to stay on their feet.
As he goes flying up in the sky, cocooned within in his wards as bits of dirt and rock, as well as stone and wood, not to mention body parts swirl around him.
Samiel winces as he tries to keep concious, because if he blacks out and falls into unconsciousness, he'll drop his wards. Which isn't a good thing to do, when he's over a hundred feet up above the village.
Then as quickly as the powerful spellcaster who is originally from the city-state of Tuledare went up, he comes down just as quickly, as dirt and rock, as well as bits of debris from the half destroyed roundhouse, starts to rain down upon the center of the village.
Samiel grimaces as he falls, as he feels himself starting to black out from the sudden speed that sent him up into the air, is arrested, and he falls back to the ground amongst the debris.
In the brief moment as he falls, the powerful mage who once worked for the airdock authority in the city of Tuledare. Just hopes that his wards survive the impact with the ground.
They do, though just barely as debris lands all around Samiel after he hits the ground. The next moment his wards fail, and he blacks out as dirt and debris continues to fall down across the center of the village.
Seeing his general get hit by a bolt lighting and go flying over him, then smash into a house, which he disappears inside of.
Teabagger the goblin Cunt goes to turn, and head after the large ork. When sir Percavelle Lé Dic suddenly goes flying backwards through the air after being hit by a beam of solid fire.
The former paladin in the order of Saint Mar-che barely passes over the small, bright green goblin who is originally from the kingdom of Melaurn.
Teabagger, who is a commander of the goblin battalion in the armies of Farque. Sees the large, heavily armoured knight disappear through the hole in the front of the house, created when the ork warleader smashed into that house.
The goblin commander goes to run back that way, and has taken just a couple of steps, when there's suddenly a loud explosion somewhere behind him on the south side of the clearing in the center of the village.
The small, bright lurid green goblin is knocked off his feet by the explosion. Teabagger as he lies upon the ground, shakes his head. Then as dirt and debris starts to rain down all around him, and across the center of the large village.
The goblin commander in the armies of Farque, gets up, and makes his way through the falling debris to the large house that his general along with the former earl of Lé Dic are inside.
"Cunt" gasps Dorc da Orc, who then mutters "Me nuts" as he goes to push sir Percavelle Lé Dic off him, after the large, heavily armoured knight landed on him.
The big, burly ork from the southern polar region of the world, who can barely move as he lies upon the floor of the front room of the large house he was sent flying into, rolls the former earl of Lé Dic off him.
The knight in the order of Saint Mar-che groans as he hits the floor with a clank.
The former paladin, whose visor has been flung open, and is half dazed after what's just happened to him, glares at the ork warleader, and is about to gasp something derogatory at Dorkindle.
When suddenly they hear a loud explosion from somewhere outside, across the clearing here in the center of the village that a crew of illegal wreckers are living in.
"Fucken now what?" mutters Dorc da Orc who is winded, not to mention battered and bruised.
So is sir Percavelle Lé Dic, who gasps "What?" followed by "Wot".
Dorc da Orc just grunts in reply to that as they lie there upon the floor amongst debris as they wonder what's going on outside . . . . . .

Aftermath 55.

The Kaldel Plains...

The center of the village is where the wagon track from the south goes through the village, and crosses with a wide path that cuts between houses, heading form east to west.
Most wagons and carts tend to come this way, either from the south where a town is located nearly thirty miles away to the south. Or from the next village to the north, which is only about two and half miles away.
Apart from that the center of the village is pretty unremarkable. With the long, low building that the illegal wreckers have been using as a tavern being not that far away.
As well as the largest house in the village, with the exception of a couple on the north and south sides of the village green, which is located on the western edge of the village.
The large house, which the mage Samiel has been living in since the crew of illegal wreckers took over this village, and the next village to the north.
Casts a large shadow across the center of the village at such an early time in the morning.
A shadow that sir Percavelle Lé Dic runs into after making his way from the north side of the village.
The heavily armoured knight who is in the order of Saint Mar-che, curls his upper lip up in disgust at finding Dorc da Orc over on the east side of what's essentially a clearing between the houses where the wagon trail meets the wide path.
A similar look is on the broad, green, brutish looking face of the large ork who spots the nobleborn knight who originally hails from the kingdom of Druvic.
Behind the ork warleader, the goblin commander Teabagger, glances around the big, burly ork, and slightly smiles when he spots the former paladin who is now just an ordinary knight in the order of Saint Mar-che.
The nobleman from the kingdom of Druvic, who is the former earl of Lé Dic. Sees a number of the illegal wreckers scattered across the center of the village. Either dying or already dead.
With a shake of his full helmed head, sir Percavelle Lé Dic loudly mutters "Damn amateurs" as he was rather hoping that one or more of the illegal wreckers, by way of a miracle if he's honest with himself, had taken down and killed the large ork, who is the nobleborn knight's rival.
The former knight of the first class, then makes his way across where the wagon track and the wide path cross.
Going through the shadows to join the ork warleader and the goblin commander on the east side of the clearing.
As he does, sir Percavelle Lé Dic or Percy as the others in the group tend to call him. Look at the wreckers, who are standing back on the western side of the center of the village, carefully watching the big burly ork from the southern polar region of the world. The small, bright lurid green goblin from the kingdom of Melaurn, and now himself.
The nobleborn knight then looks at the large ork, who is basically the bane of his existence.
The Druvician nobleman who knows that those who were following him from the north side of the village, will soon be here.
Sees the ork weaponsmith scowling at him in disgust as he approaches, then the big, burly ork who has been exiled from the Ork Range for murdering his mother, the former matriarch of the wolf tribe of orks grins.
A grin that turns to a scowl again, when Dorc da Orc says "The fuck?" after he's shot in the chin by a quarrel shot from a crossbow.
The large ork, who is a general in the armies of Farque who was hoping the former paladin would make a better target. After all Percy is wearing a full suit of shining plate armour. Not to mention a snowy white cape, that's attached to the back of his fortified steel shoulder plates.
Which in the opinion of Dorkindle, makes the former earl of Lé Dic a much better target than he would.
Apparently not, as the large ork's rather weighty appearance, and sheer size, makes him too much of tempting target compared to the others who are attacking the village at this time.
The warleader of the ork race glances behind him and Teabagger the goblin Cunt, and though he can't spot Dalinvardél Tanith, he knows the elven spy isn't all that far away from them.
He was rather hoping the elf from the principality of Laerel would take care of whoever it is that keeps shooting the weaponsmith from the wolf tribe of orks with their crossbow.
After getting up onto another rooftop, Dalinvardél Tanith who can now see all the way to the village green. Where he spots the large, two storey house on the northwest corner of the village green, is now badly damaged.
The spy Tanith, who once served in one of the more prominent noble houses in his homeland of Alínlae.
Looks around, and quickly spots the individual on a rooftop, who has been using their crossbow to shoot the big, burly ork whenever they feel like it.
Dalinvardél Tanith or Dalin as he's more commonly called by the others in the group, puts a shaft to the belly of his longbow, then draws it back as he takes aim.
The yard long shaft flies from the longbow towards it's target. And in just a few moments, the three foot long arrow slams into the chest of the crossbowman, knocking him off the roof he's been shooting from this early morning, on what is now surely an cool autumn day.
The elven spy looks across the village, making sure there's no more of the illegal wreckers on the rooftops of the houses.
And seeing none of them on top of the houses, the elf who is originally from the principality of Alínlae. Is about to get down off the rooftop he's on, when he spots something.
Dalin drops down, and lies flat upon the roof he's on. As away to the west, and a bit to the south. The elven spy is sure he spots the mage who was knocked out a little earlier when he tried to read the mind of Dorc da Orc.
The spy Tanith who spotted the mage trying to move stealthily between the roundhouses with another of the wreckers.
Is sure the other wrecker with the mage is also a spellcaster. The wizard, if his robes are anything to go by.
Dalinvardél Tanith lifts his head up, and tries to find them again. He's unable to, as they must be going behind some of the roundhouses blocking his view.
But what the elven spy is certain of, is that they're heading towards the center of the village, where Dorc da Orc, Teabagger the goblin Cunt, and now sir Percavelle Lé Dic are located.
Dalin quickly crawls backwards along the roof, then hops down off the back of it. Then once he's on the ground, the elven spy starts working his way towards the center of the village.
In the shadows along the eastern side of the clearing in the center of the village, sir Percavelle Lé Dic says "Be gone you filthy beast" at the same time Dorc da Orc tells him "Fuck off ya cunt".
There's a moments silence, then realising they're at an impasse, as they'll basically just argue for the rest of the morning if they can.
The nobleborn knight from the kingdom of Druvic nods his full helmed head across to the west side of the clearing as he asks the ork warleader "Any others nearby apart from that rabble over there, wot?".
The big, burly ork who is from the frozen bottom of the world grunts, and in rare mood of cooperation towards the heavily armoured knight, he answers him with "Yeah more behind them fuckheads".
Dorkindle then points away to between some of the roundhouses to the southwest, and adds in his deep, growling, guttural voice "Other cunts that way too".
The former earl of Lé Dic lifts up the visor of his helm and looks in the direction the ork general has pointed, then the nobleman from eastern Druvic points back across the clearing, in the direction he came from, and says "And there's more of the pillocks coming from yonder".
The ork weaponsmith grunts as he can smell more of the illegal wreckers coming from the direction the nobleborn knight has indicated.
"Lo and behold, there they are" says Percy as he spots the trio of illegal wreckers who were chasing him from the north side of the village, come into view across on the north side of the clearing.
As they stop at the edge of where the wide path meets the wagon track, right next to the large house that Samiel the mage has been living in, and they hear a magetube over on the village green fire for a third time.
Sasha the former mercenary says "Where are they?". "In the shadows, on the east side of the clearing" is the reply from Pallen the blademaster, who has spotted the bright white cape of the large, heavily armoured knight they've been chasing. Then the large ork loudly roars, which also tells them where they are.
"Hell" mutters Gorlic the former arena fighter when he spots all the bodies scattered across the small clearing here in the center of the village.
There's over a dozen of their fellow wreckers, either dead or dying, on the ground in the crossing, most of which is in shadow this early in the morning.
Then Pallen, the tall plainsman from the kingdom of Girdane, which also happens to be where his lover Sasha is from too, looks away to their right, and quietly says "What are they waiting for?" as he looks at their fellow wreckers on the wide path at the western side of the clearing, here in the center of the village.
"More of us to show up perhaps?" suggests his lover Sasha, the good looking one eyed woman, who has a wicked looking scar down one side of her face, continues with "Considering how many of us have already fallen here".
"Maybe" murmurs the dangerous blademaster, then from behind the couple from the kingdom of Girdane, the former arena fighter from the city-state of Brattonbury says "There, a bow".
As a wrecker with a bow joins those at the western edge of the small clearing in the center of the village.
"And another" says Sasha who continues with "Sovirn with a couple of others, there" as she nods to between some houses at the southwest corner of the small clearing where the wagon track and a wide path cross, here in the center of the large village.
"I suggest we stay clear of that ork if we can" quietly says Pallen the blademaster, who continues with "Concentrate our attack upon that knight" the tall plainsman who was born and grew up in the kingdom of Girdane then adds "We'll have the archers pepper that damn ork".
"Sounds good to me" says Gorlic, who'd rather not face the knight as well. As he always found it difficult to fight them during his time as an arena fighter in his homeland of Brattonbury.
The only time he had success against them, was during a combat with multiple participants. Where everyone would gang up on a knight first. For the simple reason it was the best thing to do to eliminate them.
Because if you didn't, it was near impossible to knock them out or draw first blood if you fought them one on one.
Then Pallen calls out to the other wreckers around the small clearing in the center of the village "Archers just shoot at that ork!" followed by "Otherwise keep clear of it!".
"You hear that?" quietly asks Samiel the mage who holds up a hand to stop. Davon the wizard nods, then quietly says "Sounds like the blademaster".
"It was, I'm sure of it" quietly says the powerful mage who hails from the city-state of Tuledare, as the two of them have stopped beside one of the roundhouses just to the south of the small clearing in the center of the village.
"What was it that he said?" quietly asks the mage who once worked for the airdock authority in the city of Tuledare before he turned to a like of crime "Something about an ork was it?" adds the more powerful of the two spellcasters.
"He told the archers to shoot the ork, or otherwise keep clear of it" quietly says Davon who is sure that's what the blademaster Pallen called out from the direction the two of them are heading.
Then the wizard who is from the city-state of Andelka shares a look with the mage from the city-state of Tuledare.
Samiel grimaces and mutters "Hell" while Davon winces then murmurs "An ork, what the hell?".
There's a moments silence between the two spellcasters, both of whom are holding their powers within themselves, then the powerful mage sourly says "No wonder i was knocked out".
The wizard in the dark robes nods, then says in a tone of mild surprise "An ork?" followed by "What the hell is one of them doing here?".
Samiel nods in agreement, as he thought he'd never see an ork in his lifetime, most people don't.
As often or not, they're a figure of legend, or a part of a story or tale. Something that's on occasion talked about, but never actually seen. As it's extremely rare to find one of them out of the home range, which is located in the southern polar region of the world.
"Who knows" mutters Samiel, who then continues with "But Pallen seems to think it's one, and I'll take his word on it". Davon nods in agreement, then says "No mind spells on it at all".
The powerful mage sourly smiles again at the reminder, then he quietly says "I won't" followed by "I have something else i intend to do to it".
Then the more powerful of the two spellcasters who are illegal wreckers, nods to what Davon has clasped in his right hand, and asks him "Will you use it on it?".
"Maybe" says the wizard from the city-state of Andelka, who after a slight pause as they hear a roar from nearby, that they now know comes from an ork and not a troll, then he adds "Sounds like there's other there, might save it for them".
Samiel nods, then he quietly says "Come on" followed by "The center of the village is just up ahead".
The powerful mage who has been living in the large house on one of the corners where the wagon track crosses the wide path in the center of the large village.
Leads the way forward, and once they go between a couple of roundhouses, just up ahead they see a few of the other wreckers, including the plainswoman Sovirn standing next to a house, looking into the clearing in the center of the village.
The plainswoman has drawn her bow back and is aiming it at someone, after she let's the arrow fly.
The two spellcasters share a look, as they hear the roar from the ork again, as well as a loud voice shout in defiance "Saint Mar-che!".
The mage and the wizard hurry forward, and join the others next to the side of a roundhouse, where they're able to look into the clearing that's almost completely in shadow at this time of the morning.
There, Samiel spots the ork and the small, bright green goblin he saw earlier before dawn approaching the east side of the village. With them is a large, heavily armoured knight of all things.
"A knight?" mutters Davon in surprise who can't quite believe what he's seeing over on the east side of the shadow covered clearing in the center of the village.
The wizard who never knew orks were so big, quietly says to his fellow spellcaster "Be careful" followed by "They don't exactly look worried" he briefly pauses then adds "By anything".
Samiel the mage nods in agreement, then he along with Davon stop holding their power within themselves, after they do, all hell breaks loose . . . . . .

Aftermath 54.

The Kaldel Plains...

Mira Reinholt the mage, Shur Kee the monk and Tamric Drubine the field commander all jump back and out of the way from the magetube as they shoot it off again. And it rolls back across the floor in it's firing cradle.
They look out the window they're shooting it out of, and watch the magetube shot go across the village green.
"Looks like it'll hit again" says Mira Reinholt the mage, both the physical adept from the far eastern coast of the continent and the nobleborn teenager from the feudal kingdom of Sarcrin nod in agreement.
Then Tamric Drubine who is leaning out the window, spots something away to the right, and he pops his head back in saying "Some of them are heading around to the back of the house".
Shur Kee the monk moves, and hurries out of the room they're in.
Then the mage Reinholt after sensing, and locating his mageglobe that he created, is taking it's sweet time as it goes eastwards through the village.
Follows after the short statured monk, saying to field commander Drubine "Make sure none of them double back, and come in through the front door or through the window".
Tamric Drubine or Tam as he's more commonly called by the others in the group, nods his head that he will, and continues to watch the magetube shot head away then slam into the already damaged two storey house at the northwest corner of the village green.
While the once powerful mage follows after the acolyte in the order of Bru Li who is hurrying to the backside of the house they've been firing the magetube from.
Shur Kee the monk hurries through the house, which is the largest one on the south side of the village green.
The short, statured monk who is originally from beyond the Southlands, the kingdom of Wah Lee to be exact. Which is located on the far eastern coast of the continent. Over ten thousand miles from the eastern regions of the Southlands.
Hurries around a corner, and runs down a hallway, which at the end of it, is the backdoor of the house.
The physical adept sees the backdoor slowly opening, and as he picks up the pace, and gets closer to the opening door.
He leaps up, and jumps forward, feet first. And as door fully opens. The acolyte in the order of Bru Li drop kicks the illegal wrecker who is opening the door, right in the middle of the chest.
He goes flying backwards, smashing into the wrecker behind him. And as they hit the ground, Shur Kee who landed outside, springs to his feet.
Jumping up, and spinning as he does so, extending his right leg as he comes up.
The right sandled foot of the physical adept, kicks another of the wreckers, who were about to enter the house, in the side of the head. Sending him staggering sideways, before he hits the ground unconscious.
Shur Kee, who is the living conduit of the Jade Warrior Bru Li, lands in a crouch. Looking side to side, finding two other wreckers, standing there, looking in shock at the short, statured man in the strange white clothing, wearing an even stranger looking conical shaped hat.
There's a slight pause, then the two wreckers, one holding a shortsword, and the other with a rough looking club like weapon, that has an iron covering on the end of it.
Move forward to attack the crouching physical adept, who patiently waits in his crouch, until they're almost on him, and then he moves with explosive speed.
As the older of the two wreckers, swings his sword at the physical adept, the short statured monk steps within his guard. And throws and open handed palm punch, which hits the illegal wrecker square in the diaphragm.
The shortsword is flung from the man's right hand as his arms go backwards, and he quickly staggers backward before hitting the ground, landing on his rear end, gasping for breath.
The acolyte in the philosophical order of Bru Li, spins to one side. Easily avoiding the iron headed club that's swung down at him by the younger, and much larger of the two illegal wreckers who have just rushed him.
Shur Kee quickly kicks out with his right foot, catching the large man in the right knee, causing him to hiss in pain, and stumble sideways.
He goes to turn towards the short, statured monk who has quickly stepped towards him, and after turning sideways, throws both his arms out, and throws punches with both fists.
Shur Kee's fists connect with the side of the much larger man, hitting him in the right side, right in the ribs.
The illegal wrecker gasps in pain as he's knocked off his feet. And as he sits there on the ground. He doesn't even see the foot that hits him straight in the face that knocks him out.
After kicking that wrecker in the face, the physical adept spins around when he hears movement behind him.
And he sees one of the other illegal wreckers, the one who was hit by the other who got Shur Kee's drop kick in the chest. Has got to his feet, and is the middle of pulling his arm back to throw a hand axe at the short, statured monk who is originally from the far east coast of the continent.
Suddenly the wrecker with the hand axe is picked up off the ground, and flung backwards a good thirty feet, until he smashes into a cart infront of the roundhouse in that direction.
He's either dead or unconscious, he's not moving that's for sure.
"You okay?" asks Mira Reinholt the mage as he steps outside after casting a simple blast spell at the illegal wrecker who was about to throw a hand axe at the physical adept.
"I am fine" replies Shur Kee the monk, who straightens his odd, conical shaped hat that's slipped to one side on his head.
Then the acolyte in the order of Bru Li walks over to the illegal wrecker he hit with an open palm in the diaphragm, who is sitting on the ground in the early morning light, still gasping for breath. Shur Kee knocks him out with swift kick to the side of the head.
Then the two adventurers, one from beyond the Southlands, the other from the city-state of Vexil, the largest city-state in the Southlands, who have known one another for nearly fourteen years.
Share a look, when they hear from inside the house, the sounds of fighting.
"Shit" mutters the once powerful mage, who turns and hurries back inside through the backdoor. He's quickly followed by the short, statured monk.
Tamric Drubine jumps back, then ducks to avoid a dagger thrown at him through the window.
And as the illegal wrecker who threw the dagger climbs in through the window.
The nobleborn teenager from the feudal kingdom of Sarcrin steps away from one of the other two wreckers who have already jumped in through the window.
That one's on the floor, dead from slash to the throat from the young field commander's sword.
Tam who has yet to be confirmed as a swordmaster, but basically already is, even though he's still not eighteen years old.
Squares off against the other wrecker who is in the room. And for the moment not worrying about the other climbing in through the window.
The son and former heir of a previous knight of castle Drubine, which is located in the forested north of the kingdom of Sarcrin, doesn't bother to use the magical properties of his weapon.
He doesn't have to, as he already knows his opponent, isn't an expert with the broadsword he's wielding.
Infact it's pretty obvious, he hardly knows how to use it as he swings it at the young field commander in the armies of Farque.
Tamric Drubine slides the heavier blade to one side with his sword, then the nobleborn teen whips his longsword back at the face of the illegal wrecker.
Cutting open the man's face, blinding him in the process. And as that wrecker screams and turns away with a hand clamped to his bloody face.
Tam swings his longsword at the back of the man's head. The illegal wrecker drops to the floor, with the back of his skull caved in.
The young field commander spins towards the window, which he's now opposite of, near the door to the hallway.
One of the senior most officers in the recent campaign some of the armies of Farque were involved with, in the north of the kingdom of Nastell.
Finds the other illegal wrecker who has just climbed into the room through the window, is taking another dagger from the bracer on the belt he has diagonally across his chest.
Tamric Drubine, who knows he has no chance of getting to the man with the daggers before he throws one of them.
Briefly contemplates using the ward in his sword to protect himself. He decides not to. And instead quickly steps to his right as the illegal wrecker steps forward to throw the dagger at the young field commander in the armies of Farque.
Tam grabs the lever of the magetube that's infront of the open doorway, and quickly pulls it up.
He jumps back to the side and grins as be covers his ears as the large, magical weapon fires.
A ten foot wide ball of pure magical energy forms infront of the magetube.
Turning the dagger thrown in this direction to basically nothing. And as the illegal wrecker stands there in absolute shock, as the magetube is propelled backwards in it's wheeled cradle, out the doorway and into the hallway beyond.
The ten foot wide ball of red magical energy heads across the room. The illegal wrecker has no chance to avoid it. Even if he wasn't just standing there in disbelief. And was able to dive to one side. He would still get hit by the magetube shot.
Which is indeed what happens to him, vaporizing him in an instant. As the shot goes across the room, then out the front of the house.
Stepping around the magetube that's in the hallway, Mira Reinholt puts his head in the doorway to the room that they've been firing the magetube from, and says "Tam you alright?".
"Fine" is the reply from the nobleborn teenager originally from the kingdom of Sarcrin.
"I can see" dryly says the spellcaster from the city-state of Vexil who is also a highly skilled swordmaster, as he makes his way into the room.
A room that's now missing it's windows, and most of the wall that was around the window.
The mage, who is a member of the personal council of the lord and ruler of the lands Farque, who has spotted a couple of dead wreckers on the floor.
Sees a magetube shot heading across the village green at a slight angle. Which the mage Reinholt thankfully sees is going to miss the two storey house at the northwest corner of the village green, that they've already shot twice with the magetube.
They don't want to hit it again, as the eastern end of that particular building, houses the rest of the fortune that the illegal wreckers have accumulated over the last year or so.
The spellcaster who was once the most powerful mage of his generation to be found anywhere in the Southlands.
Along with the rest of the group, plan to take the rest of the  wealth the illegal wreckers have in that badly damaged two storey house on the otherside of the village green.
That's after they've dealt to the illegal wreckers, all two hundred plus of them, who are in this village this morning, here in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains.
"Did you have to use that?" asks councillor Reinholt who gestures back at the magetube that's in the hallway, the magetube that Shur Kee the monk is stepping around, to make his way into the room.
"Not really" replies field commander Drubine, who can't help but grin as he adds "But you should of seen the look on the face of that fellow i shot".
Still grinning, Tam continues with "He couldn't comprehend what was happening".
"I can imagine" dryly says the Vexilian mage in exile, who then adds "He's fine" in response to Shur Kee the monk saying "Is young Tamric okay?" as the short, statured monk makes his way around the magetube, and finally steps back into the room.
"Oh" says the acolyte in the order of Bru Li when he sees what's happened in the room.
The mage Reinholt sourly smiles, and makes his way to where the windows were, and looks out to the left as smoke drifts by.
"Think that other ship might catch on fire" says Tamric Drubine who has moved forward, and is looking in the same direction as the highly skilled swordmaster from the city-state of Vexil.
"It might" says councillor Reinholt, who continues with "And if it does, this house will probably go up as well".
The young field commander nods in agreement, as does Shur Kee the monk who has moved forward and joined them at the remains of the wall.
The physical adept who is an honorary member of the personal council of the lord and ruler of the lands Farque, looks across the village green, and spots a few wreckers looking in this direction. Far fewer than there was before when they started firing the magetube.
"They do not look too keen to come this way now" says the short, statured monk who is from the otherside of the continent.
Both Mira Reinholt and Tamric Drubine look around, and see just a few of the wreckers near the village green, as most have taken off to where fighting is occurring elsewhere in the village.
"I can't imagine why" dryly says the Vexilian mage in exile, who then looks away to the left again, and sees sparks coming off the damaged ship that's on fire.
Hmmm hope that fire doesn't spread too much, the once powerful mage thinks to himself, who looks across the village green, to the north side, where he's pretty certain that any fire won't spread to.
But to be sure, the highly skilled swordmaster says to the young field commander and the physical adept "Come on" as he nods towards the badly damaged two storey house at the northwest corner of the village green.
"We better secure what's in there" explains Mira Reinholt who continues with "And make sure none of them come back and try to get it out".
Both Tamric Drubine and Shur Kee nod, then the three of them simply step outside, and start walking across the village green, keeping an eye out for any of the illegal wreckers as they do.
And as they do that, the spellcaster who is also a highly swordmaster, who is unable to be sensed due to the amulet he wears around his neck.
Senses for the mageglobe he created a little earlier. He quickly finds it somewhere near the middle of the large village. It's no longer moving.
The mage Reinholt slightly nods as he realises the living piece of magic has found a target, and is waiting to act . . . . . .

Aftermath 53.

The Kaldel Plains...

Pallen the blademaster shoves his lover Sasha the former mercenary to one side when the knight they're following briefly glances back at them, and throws the pick he's carrying at them.
The pick thuds into the side of the roundhouse they're next to, right where Sasha was about to be.
"Hell" says Gorlic the former arena fighter who is behind the couple from the kingdom of Girdane.
"That was close" adds the former arena fighter from the city-state of Brattonbury who looks at the hand pick sticking in the side of the house just a couple of yards infront of him.
"Where did he go?" asks Sasha the former mercenary as they pause in pursuit of the large, heavily armoured knight who they find it hard to believe, moves so quickly in all that armour.
"There he is" says Pallen the blademaster in a slightly dry tone as they hear the knight shout out "Narille!" once again.
"Isn't that a god?" asks Gorlic, who recalls that one of the shrines near the fighting arenas in the city of Brattonbury where some of the fighters prayed at, was dedicated to the god Narille.
"It is" says Sasha as she remembers a church of Narille in the city of Oaklynn, the capital of the kingdom of Girdane. The city the good looking woman with one eye, and a gnarly looking scar down one side of her face, was born in and grew up in.
"Let's go" adds the former mercenary who finds herself with her lover Pallen, and the former arena fighter Gorlic, in pursuit of a knight through the village that their crew of illegal wreckers live, and work in.
As they chase after the heavily armoured knight, Sasha and Pallen share a look. As again they hear the roar of the ork they saw earlier.
A roar that's definitely louder and closer, from somewhere near the middle of the village.
"I hope to hell we're not going anywhere near that ork again" says Gorlic from behind the couple who hail from the kingdom of Girdane as they run through the village in pursuit of the large heavily armoured knight.
The former arena fighter turned illegal wrecker who is from the coastal city-state of Brattonbury, doesn't want to be anywhere near the ork anytime soon.
He'd rather face that knight one on one, than get close to that ork once more.
Infront of Gorlic, both Sasha and her lover Pallen have a sneaking suspicion that's exactly where they're going.
For what other reason would the knight be shouting out as he is, while the ork roars. They're basically calling out to one another, so they can locate one another.
Though strictly speaking, that's not actually what they're doing. They're more like two dogs in a pissing competition. Marking their area, and declaring that they're the top dog in the area.
For they may be in the same group, and have been for more than six years now. But first and foremost they're bitter rivals. Always have been, and always will be.
Who previously in the past, before the large heavily armoured knight joined the group he's now a part of.
They tried to kill one another numerous times for a decade whenever they ran across one another throughout the Southlands.
Over on the south side of the village, the wizard Davon has left the roundhouse he was in previously in, and in the early morning light, is making his way towards the middle of the large village.
The spellcaster originally from the city-state of Andelka, who is holding his power within himself, is also holding something in his clenched right hand.
The wizard hurries into the open backdoor of a roundhouse that's been vacated by some of the locals who still live in the village since it was taken over by the crew of illegal wreckers.
He hurries through the house, to an open window, and he looks out in the direction he's heading.
Davon who hears that roar again, spots the wrecker Sovirn and a couple of the other wreckers hurry by.
Sovirn, one of the few plainswomen amongst the crew of illegal wreckers, is carrying her bow and quiver with her.
The wizard from the city-state of Andelka, is about to head out and follow them, when out of the corner of his right eye, he spots movement.
He sees someone in the distance on a rooftop, getting quickly down off the house they're on and disappear.
The spellcaster slightly frowns as he didn't recognise the cloaked and hooded figure carrying what looked like to be a longbow, who he could just make out in the morning light.
Davon glances at his right hand, and after a moment, the practitioner of magic decides not to use it. After all he can no longer see that person, so it'll be a waste of time to use what he's holding in his hand.
Then as the Andelkan wizard goes to head outside again, and follow after Sovirn and the others, he spots movement again. Though this time out of the corner of his left eye.
Davon spots someone trying to move stealthily between the houses, as they head towards the center of the village. The wizard frowns as he tries to see who it is.
Samiel the mage pauses when he hears what he still thinks is a troll, roar from somewhere near the center of the village.
The powerful spellcaster who hails from the city-state of Tuledare, where before he took up a life of crime which has led him here to the Kaldel Plains to work as an illegal wrecker. He worked for the airdock authority in the city of Tuledare.
Has his back against one of the roundhouses, and he peers around to see if there's anyone between this one and the next roundhouse along.
The powerful mage sees no one, and though he's a bit sore and tired from having a healing potion after being knocked out.
He moves freely across the gap between the houses, and he gets behind the next roundhouse along.
Samiel frowns as he's certain he hears someone hiss his name, the spellcaster from the city-state of Tuledare looks around.
And there, in a window of the roundhouse directly to the south of the one he's behind, he spots a figure at the open window.
The Tuledarian mage peers through the early morning light, then nods his head as he identifies his fellow spellcaster Davon the wizard.
The powerful mage looks around, then he hurries to that roundhouse, the front door of which opens as he quickly approaches.
"What happened to you?" quietly asks Davon the wizard when he sees the state of Samiel after he closes the door behind the mage when he enters.
"I was knocked out" sourly says Samiel the mage who has flecks of vomit up his front, from his waist to his neck.
"Seems i threw up when i did" adds the powerful spellcaster from the city-state of Tuledare.
Samiel then quickly explains to the wizard what he was doing when he was knocked out. And then later Gorlic the former arena fighter reviving him with a healing potion.
"There's a damn spellcaster around, i don't know if it's that mage i told you about, or someone else" says Samiel, who thinks there's another, more subtle spellcaster in the vicinity who isn't the mage, who tried to baulk his attempt at destroying that small airboat at dusk yesterday.
"Whoever it is, i sent a mageglobe after them" adds the powerful spellcaster from the city-state of Tuledare.
The wizard Davon, who like Samiel is holding his power within himself, nods and says "I saw that go up into the sky, then i lost sight of it going east".
The Tuledarian mage nods, then quietly says "Good, it's found someone and is after them" he continues with "Whoever it is, they'll find it near impossible to get away from it".
Then the two spellcasters who are illegal wreckers, look out the window as they hear the roar again from somewhere near the center of the village.
"A troll you say?" asks Davon who then adds in a murmur "I never knew trolls roared like that".
"Yeah big ugly brute of a thing" says Samiel who was casting upon what he still thinks is a troll, when he was knocked out.
The powerful Tuledarian spellcaster then adds "There's a small, bright green goblin with it" followed by "Horribly green too".
"That sounds like an odd pair for sure" quietly says the wizard, who by far is the less powerful of the two spellcasters who are illegal wreckers.
Samiel nods in agreement, then when he sees Davon is clutching something in his right hand, the powerful mage asks "What have you got there?" as he nods to what Davon is holding.
The wizard from the city-state of Andelka opens his right hand, and the mage's eyebrows lift up in surprise when he sees what the less powerful spellcaster is holding.
"Had it for a while" says Davon who continues with "Got a few of them actually" in response to Samiel asking him "Where the hell did you get that?".
"Well don't use it until you have to" says the powerful mage "Make it count when you use it" continues Samiel who then silently adds, sneaky bastard had those all the time and never told me.
Then the most powerful of the practitioners of magic amongst the crew of illegal wreckers quietly says "Come on" followed by "I want to take care of that damn troll once and for all".
As the two spellcasters step outside again, the mage from the city-state of Tuledare quietly says "When you stop holding your power within yourself, put up wards" he continues with "That mage might be around, and that other spellcaster too if they can get away from my mageglobe".
The wizard in the dark robes, who hails from the city-state of Andelka, a nation founded by some of the nobility of Nastell, who broke away from that particular kingdom just over five centuries ago. Nods that he will, then he says "You hear that?".
"That troll?" asks Samiel "No someone else" says Davon, who continues with "Sounds like they're shouting something out".
As they walk away from the roundhouse they were just in, the mage from the city-state of Tuledare frowns as he concentrates, then Samiel says "Think they're saying, Saint something".
The most powerful of the spellcasters amongst the illegal wreckers shrugs his shoulders, then says "Well, i think that's what they're shouting".
The wizard Davon nods
as the two of them hurry between the houses and other buildings, as they head towards the middle of the large village, that they and the other wreckers took over as their own, just over a little more than a year ago.
Ahead of them and to the left, they spot the plainswoman Sovirn and a couple of the other wreckers, behind one of the roundhouses, which Sovirn is glancing around as she holds her bow which she has arrow in it.
The two spellcasters, Samiel the mage and Davon the wizard after sharing a look, head their way when they see them.
Over on the north side of the large village, Arvelle the plainsman hops back and avoids getting gutted by the man with two long daggers who more than once, has nearly killed him.
The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers looks at his opponent, whose face below the bridge of the nose, is covered by a black cloth that's wrapped around his head.
The man who at about six foot tall, is only a few inches shorter than the tall plainsman with the shaved head.
Has proved a difficult opponent, with Arvelle unable to hit him so far. The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers thinks that even the dangerous blademaster, and his fellow plainsman Pallen, would find it difficult to take down this man.
One of the other wreckers intervenes, and swings a sword at the man with the two long daggers,
Arvelle steps back again, turning as he does so, and gets his sword up just in time, to deflect the haft of long handled hammer swung at him by the solid looking individual in the long leather smock who has just climbed over the wagons to get at him and the others.
As his arms shake at the impact, the leader of the crew of illegal wreckers is just glad that the knight who was with this lot attacking them, took off further into the village.
Arvelle knows that he and those with him, wouldn't of been able to hold them off if the knight, who moved pretty quick for someone so large, wearing a full suit of a heavy plate armour. Was still here on the north side of the village, helping out the others who are attacking the illegal wreckers.
The tall plainsman with the shaved head who leads the crew of illegal wreckers that have been bringing down airships right across the Kaldel Plains for the last year or so.
Swings his sword at the solid looking individual with the hammer, who hops back out of the way.
As Arvelle does, he wonders where the third attacker is. When the wrecker engaged with the man with the two long daggers. Staggers backwards with a crossbow bolt in his gut.
The tall plainsman sees that the tall, athletic looking, attractive young woman with the crossbow, has crawled under the wagons, and is now on this side too.
Arvelle is with just one other wrecker, is joined by four others who have run here after hearing the fighting and shouting.
The leader of the crew of illegal wreckers doesn't know how long they'll last, as the trio they're up against, are highly skilled, and are determined to kill them all.
He wonders how the whole crew, who number just over two hundred, who are all in this village at the moment. Are doing, as it sounds like there's fighting going on elsewhere in the village.
The tall plainsman with the shaved head, who in the distance hears both the knight shout out something again, followed by the roar they've been hearing since the attack on the village began.
Is certain that he and his crew must eventually take down those attacking them. As if the indication from this side of the village is anything to go by. Those who are attacking them are few in number.
The thing Arvelle doesn't know, is that this group attacking him and the other wreckers. A group that numbers less a dozen. Are hell bent on making the illegal wreckers pay for destroying the airship they were traveling on.
As well as the small airboat some of them were flying on, yesterday at dusk.
Some of them have already stolen from the wreckers, and sewn mistrust amongst the crew of illegal wreckers.
Now this morning, in the first light of a day that promises to be another, sunny but cold day here in the northeast of the Kaldel Plains, they're exacting revenge for what's happened to them recently.
Then as Arvelle throws himself into the fight again, he and everyone else in the village hears the thud of one of the magetubes firing again from over on the village green . . . . . .
