Soldier Of Gods 33.

The City Of Tuledare.

Beldane the cleric looks over at Tamric Drubine the field commander and Saanea the witch, as well as Dalinvardèl Tanith the elven spy and wonders if they noticed anything there with the report from the lead scout Maiya Garney and her second in command, sergeant Blufont.
The powerful cleric originally from the kingdom of Nastell, in particular wonders if the witch Saanea noticed it.
He couldn't sense her casting anything, for the simple reason his temperamental mace was acting up as usual.
Making it near impossible to sense anyone with magical ability in the vicinity of it, to know if they're casting or not.
It also works the other way, and he knows Saanea would of been unable to sense him casting, which of course he was.
The cleric in the church of Glaine, a god predominantly worshipped in the north of his homeland, Nastell.
Cast to see if the lead scout and the experienced sergeant were telling the truth or not. As he did with the others from the infiltration squads who had made their reports to Dalinvardèl Tanith early this morning.
And though Maiya Garney and sergeant Blufont didn't lie at all, they did have a couple of omissions from their early morning report, concerning what they witnessed during the attack yesterday afternoon and the aftermath, in the area of the city that they and their squad were assigned to.
In particular omissions to do with the younger brother of the lead scout Maiya Garney, Jovan Garney the cleric, and members of his church, the church of Kaēvin.
And though Beldane himself sees no problems with it, as he saw from reading their minds, it was nothing important.
He knows it might not be the case when it comes to both Dalinvardèl Tanith and field commander Drubine. Both of whom hold important positions in the military of the Lands Farque.
Unlike Beldane, who like Shur Kee the monk as well as sir Percavelle Le Dic and for that matter Saanea the witch, isn't in the Armies of Farque. But he just tags along because he's a member of the group that travels with Lord Farque.
The cleric from the kingdom of Nastell nods his head, when Dalinvardèl Tanith the elven spy says "Pretty much like all the others" followed by "The targets in their part of the city were wiped out, with no survivors" he then adds "Well, no survivors that they saw".
The spy originally from the principality of Alínlae, where he previously served in one of the more prominent noble houses of that nation, continues with "And no one of importance turned up too".
"Probably because they're all dead" dryly says Saanea the witch, who follows that with "Or in hiding".
Beldane nods again, this time in agreement with his fellow practitioner of magic, who then says to her lover, Tamric Drubine "The Krean aircorp are thorough, that's for sure" followed by "They've wiped out all resistance in the city in less than an afternoon".
"As was planned" says Tamric Drubine the field commander, who after a brief pause continues with "Though I didn't think it would go so well to plan".
The overall commander of the Fifth Army of Farque, who is charge of the city-state of Phamal's war against the city-state of Tuledare, then says "Them not having their ruling council here during the war so far has been their biggest mistake".
The other three nod in agreement with that, then Tamric Drubine or Tam as he's more commonly called by those who know him best, says "Hell, they've already lost, and there's basically no one to surrender to us".
"It can't be helped" says Dalinvardèl Tanith after shrugging at what field commander Drubine just said.
The elven spy who is a senior commander in the Armies of Farque, continues with "We'll figure something out".
Beldane nods in agreement with that, then he glances down at his mace that's hanging off his belt, at his right hip.
The powerful cleric in the church of Glaine, raises an eyebrow as the magical weapon, which is both powerful, and to put it bluntly, temperamental.
Is no longer running interference, so to speak. When it comes to magic and spellcasting in the immediate vicinity.
The Nastellian born cleric looks over at Saanea the witch, who has a sour look upon her face as she looks his way.
"So good of that mace of yours to shut up" sourly says Saanea the witch, the attractive looking spellcaster who hails from the Maldin Hills, then adds "Damn thing was giving me a headache".
Shrugging his shoulders in an apologetic manner, Beldane the cleric says "Sorry" followed by "I really can't control it".
"I know" dryly says the witch who is the lover of the young field commander Tamric Drubine.
"Damn thing has got a mind of it's own" adds the witch who though just a few years older than field commander Drubine, she was previously married, before that relationship ended badly.
I know, the cleric in the church of Glaine thinks to himself, and though Beldane knows his magical weapon has a personality of sorts, as a number of magical weapons and items do.
It's not a living thing, as there's only one such magical weapon like that on the world of Volunell. The sword that Lord Farque himself wields, The Sword of Power.
After Dalinvardèl Tanith slightly cracks open a window shutter, and briefly looks outside as it's now dawn here in the city of Tuledare.
And Beldane gets up from where he's sitting, and he puts another piece of wood in the fireplace of the large upstairs room the spy Tanith has been using whilst here in the capital of the city-state of Tuledare.
Field commander Drubine dryly says "I guess it'll be too much to ask to get something to eat for breakfast, what with the mess down there in the common room".
"The kitchens are fine" says the cleric in church of Glaine, who continues with "He only wrecked the common room before falling asleep in the middle of the night". Referring to Dorc da Orc.
"In fact the cook and her helpers are busy at it down in the kitchen, and have been for some time" adds Beldane, who is in, and has been in a peculiar situation, to say the least, for a number of years now, ever since he joined the group.
The powerful cleric from the kingdom of Nastell, has never set foot in the Lands Farque. And whenever the others go there from time to time, they always leave him behind.
Usually in the last place they were, or sometimes just across the border from the Lands ruled by Lord Farque.
The cleric who knows that under any other circumstance, he'd be killed on sight by Lord Farque. Who rightly or wrongly dislikes clerics to the core. With good reason, as he's undead.
But since Beldane has been deemed both essential and important to the undead warlords plans. Whatever they might be. He's alive and a member of the group that travels with the lord and ruler of the Lands Farque.
The fighting cleric in the heavy half plate armour, says to the others "I better go down there and sees if they've started cleaning up".
Beldane follows on from that with "And see if the cook can send something up here for breakfast" the member of the church of Glaine, continues with "Hopefully they can".
The other three nod in agreement then Beldane the cleric makes his way to the door, as he does, the other three continue their chat, discussing how they can get the Tuledarians to surrender, considering that the city-state of Tuledare has all but been defeated.
The Nastellian born practitioner of magic makes his way downstairs, on what feels like a cold morning.
Especially now that he's out of the large room that Dalinvardèl Tanith the elven spy has been using here in the Traveler's Comfort inn.
Once he's downstairs, and at the doorway to the common room, the spellcaster from the north of the kingdom of Nastell.
Joins Lisell Maera the scout commander, who has a sour look upon her attractive face, as she looks into the mess that's the common room.
Beldane looks in as well, and grimaces at what he sees, then he listens to Lisell Maera the scout commander who tells him "They're cleaning up around the edge of the room". Referring to a few of field commander Drubine's staff, and a couple of the inn workers.
"But no one wants to get close to you know who" adds the scout commander who is originally from the coastal city-state of Brattonbury.
Glancing at the fighting cleric beside her, scout commander Maera asks him "You couldn't get rid of him, could you?".
"Ah" says Beldane the cleric as he looks at the large ork who is fast asleep in the middle of the common room, where he's lying amongst the destruction he wrought during the night.
Then the member of the church of Glaine sees that the back door of the common room is open, and he tells the scout commander "I might be able to".
Lisell Maera or Lis as she's more commonly called by those who know her well, nods then gestures at something else, and says "And that as well".
Beldane grunts as he sees the disgusting pile of ork crap near the fireplace, a pile of shit that's covering up what's left of a dwarf.
Who had the misfortune of staying here in the The Traveler's Comfort inn when Dorc da Orc turned up here during the middle of the night.
"Sure, no problem" says the powerful spellcaster originally from the kingdom of Nastell, who then teleports the snoring ork warleader into the yard at the back of the inn, which leads to the stables.
Then the cleric in the church of Glaine incinerates the pile of ork shit, and the half a dwarven body beneath it.
"Thanks" says Lisell Maera the scout commander, who breathes a sigh of relief, glad she doesn't feel like vomiting now that a lot of the stench in the common room of the Traveler's Comfort has disappeared.
Beldane the cleric grunts, then says "I'm off to the kitchen" followed by "See if they're ready to serve breakfast".
The fighting cleric does exactly that, while the scout commander continues to oversee the cleaning up of the common room of the inn, on this cold autumn morning here in the city of Tuledare . . . . . .
